Our Tidy Town session was out in the local community last Thursday helping to keep our area clean and welcoming for everyone! 🌍🧤

Armed with litter pickers and bin bags, the group worked hard clearing scattered crisp packets, bottles, wrappers and rubbish hidden in bushes and along pathways. It was amazing to see the difference such a small act of kindness can make to the environment 🌿

As well as helping the community, the session encouraged teamwork, taking pride in our local area and building awareness around caring for the world around us. Great work from everyone involved! 👏♻️

At our People Forums, the people we support come together to share their ideas, opinions and feedback on important topics within the service. From activities and sessions to changes they’d like to see and the support they receive. 💬

One recent suggestion was the idea of getting an ice cream or slushi maker for everyone to enjoy during the warmer months. Together, the group researched different options, discussed the pros and cons, and helped make the final decision to purchase a Ninja Slushi machine. 🍧

Today, it was finally time to fire it up for the first time, with everyone enjoying refreshing frozen lemonade and orange juice! 🍋🍊

This is a great example of making sure people’s voices are heard, valued, and turned into real action. Well done to everyone involved in making this happen! 👏

Today DCG headed to Sheffield Park for a photography session, celebrating Bee Day by capturing the beauty of flowers, plants and nature through our cameras 🌸🐝

The group explored different angles, colours and close-up shots while enjoying the sunshine and spotting plenty of bee-friendly flowers along the way 🌿✨

This afternoon’s music session was full of energy, confidence and fun! 🎶🎤🥁

Everyone enjoyed getting involved, from singing on the microphone, to joining in with the drum circle and exploring different musical instruments. It was great to see so much enthusiasm, teamwork and self-expression throughout the session. A brilliant afternoon all round! 🎵

Back to the beautiful Seven Sisters Country Park 🌿

We enjoyed a scenic walk along the cliffs, binoculars in hand as always, taking in the stunning views. Dropping down to the beach at Cuckmere Haven, we spotted a variety of seabirds and even some interesting butterflies along the way 🦋

No seals this time unfortunately, but that just gives us another reason to come back! 🌊

This week we had the pleasure of hosting a DPS in-house Bake-Off Challenge! 🍰🧁

The afternoon was absolutely buzzing - you couldn't move for talented bakers with their delicious cakes, traybakes and muffins 🥮🍨🍩

This year we challenged everyone to:
1) include a vegetable-element in the ingredients 🥕🍠🫑🥦
2) include an accessible recipe so we can all read it 🤓👍👀

And to top it all, our guest judges were the utterly fabulous celebrity Daniel Wakeford, and his hugely-inspirational mum, Carol. Guys - you were the literal icing on the cake! ❤🤩😎

Entertainment was provided by the Burnside Music session who rocked as usual - and massive congratulations to all the winners - thanks for bringing (and sharing!) all that delicious cake 🍥🍡🧁🍰🎂

What a fantastic Cook My Lunch session we had recently! The group worked brilliantly together to prepare a delicious meal of pasta and meatballs with spinach and it smelled as good as it tasted! 😋

Everyone played their part, from preparing ingredients and cooking at the stove to setting the table and supporting one another along the way. It was wonderful to see such great teamwork, communication, and confidence in the kitchen. 👩‍🍳👨‍🍳

Cooking together is not just about making food. It’s about building skills, independence, and friendships, and this session showed all of that and more. 💙

Well done everyone. We can’t wait to see what’s on the menu next! 👏🍽️

A big well done to our Digital Community Group! Recently, everyone showed fantastic confidence by taking turns to lead activities and support one another throughout the session. 🌟

The group explored important topics including social media safety, recognising computer parts, and learning about different photography equipment. It was wonderful to see people stepping up, sharing their knowledge, and encouraging their peers along the way.👍🏻

What really stood out was the kindness shown to each other. Offering help, giving reassurance, and making sure everyone felt included and able to take part. That teamwork and support makes all the difference. 🤝

We are so proud of the confidence, leadership, and positive attitudes shown by everyone. Keep up the amazing work! 👏

We’ve been putting in hard work in at the gym recently. Lifting, stretching, and pushing ourselves to do our best! 💪🏼💦

But of course, it’s not all serious… last week, once the session was done, we made the most of the beautiful sunshine with a fun game of frisbee outside! 🥏🌞

Lots of laughter, teamwork, and fresh air. The perfect way to finish a great session.👏

Our football team took part in a fantastic tournament today! ⚽️☀️

With 1 win, 2 draws, and 2 losses, the team showed great determination, teamwork, and sportsmanship throughout the day. Most importantly, everyone had a brilliant time in the sunshine, being competitive, supporting each other, and having fun together.🥰
