Urgent Road Closure: – ttrn872236N - Berrow Road, Burnham-on-Sea and Highbridge

Please be aware that we have received a notification of a TTRN urgent road closure at Berrow Road, Burnham-on-Sea and Highbridge which will commence on 24th June 2026 - 24th June 2026 (09:30 - 17:00) for a total of 7.5 hours.
This will enable Wessex Water to replace a frame and cover. Closure will be in force between the hours of 09:30 and 17:00..
The contractor has indicated that access for Emergency Services through the site is permitted on this occasion.

New Vehicular Access to Town Council Offices Completed

Burnham-on-Sea and Highbridge Town Council is pleased to confirm that construction of the new vehicular access entrance to the Town Council offices on Mendip Way has now been successfully completed.
The new entrance will officially open for use from Wednesday 17th June. Visitors travelling by vehicle are encouraged to use the postcode TA8 1GA or the What3Words location ///dimension.reworked.loved to find the new access point.
Pedestrian access to the offices remains unchanged and will continue to be available via Jaycroft Road.

Date Change - Temporary Road Closure: North Avenue, West Avenue, East Avenue, South Avenue and Parsons Road, Burnham-on-Sea and Highbridge
Please be aware that we have received notification of a date change to a temporary road closure at North Avenue, West Avenue, East Avenue, South Avenue and Parsons Road, Burnham-on-Sea and Highbridge for approximately 861 metres.
The new date for the works to commence is 1st July 2026 and is expected to last until 14th July 2026 between the hours of 08:00 - 19:00.
These works are for National Grid to renew overhead electricity poles and conductors.
The contractor has indicated that access for Emergency Services through the site is permitted on this occasion.

Burnham-on-Sea and Highbridge Town Council is delighted to host a free public screening of The People’s Emergency Briefing at The Princess Theatre & Arts Centre, Princess Street, Burnham-on-Sea on Monday 6th July at 6.30pm.

Following the film, attendees will be invited to take part in a structured discussion, designed to support open, constructive conversation about the issues raised and what they may mean locally.

The briefing, introduced by Chris Packham CBE, sets out the implications of climate and nature breakdown for food security, public health, infrastructure, the economy and national security, alongside evidence-based actions that could reduce these risks.

The 50 minute film brings together leading scientists to present a clear picture of the challenges ahead, while creating space for local communities to consider what these issues may mean in their local area and how they can support their MP to call for stronger action.
