September is a good time to talk about what the Wellbeing Solutions platform was designed to do in the moments between support.

The people who get most from it are not necessarily the ones who work through every module in sequence. They are the ones who use it as a resource when something specific comes up.

The manager who is about to have a difficult conversation with a team member and wants to check their approach. The neurodivergent employee who has just received feedback that felt unfair and wants to understand what their options are. The HR professional who has a new starter with a diagnosis they have not encountered before and needs to move quickly.

The platform is designed to be searchable and modular for exactly this reason. You do not need to have done the foundation content to access what you need right now.

This is different from most workplace learning. It is not a course. It is a resource that is there when the workplace is not slowing down to let you learn.

If your organisation wants that available to your team, or if you are an individual who wants it available to you through Access to Work, get in touch.

Anxiety is not a neurodivergent condition. But it is extremely common among neurodivergent people, and the relationship between the two matters.

When you spend years in environments that were not designed for how your brain works, navigating social rules you find hard to read, managing sensory demands that drain you, trying to meet performance expectations using executive function that does not always cooperate, anxiety is a rational response.

The problem is that when someone presents with anxiety, the anxiety is often treated in isolation. The underlying neurodivergent profile that is generating it is not addressed. The person is supported to manage the anxiety without anyone asking what is causing it.

This produces cycles. The anxiety is temporarily managed and then regenerated by the same conditions.

Understanding the connection matters for workplaces too. An employee who is anxious and struggling may have a neurodivergent profile that has not been identified or supported. The anxiety is not the root; it is a symptom.

Addressing the root means looking at the environment, the role, the communication style, the adjustments available. That is a management conversation. And it is one that makes a far bigger difference than treating the anxiety as the problem.

The Neuro Sparks Burnley training suite is taking bookings for autumn.

If you are an organisation in Lancashire or across the North West and you have been thinking about neurodiversity training for your team, this is the practical bit.

We offer half-day and full-day sessions from our Burnley suite, open to teams and individuals. We also deliver in-house training at your location, which works particularly well for larger teams or organisations that want training tailored to their specific context and culture.

What we deliver is not a generic awareness package. It is practical, specific, grounded in what actually happens in workplaces. Managers leave with things they can do differently the following week. HR professionals leave with frameworks that actually help. Neurodivergent employees, where they attend, leave with better language for their own experience.

We are also running an open session for neurodivergent individuals in September, for people who want support in navigating work, Access to Work, or disclosure, in a room with other people who understand from the inside.

Spaces are limited for all sessions. If you want to book or explore what is available, drop me a message or visit the link in my profile.

If you’re an employee or self-employed and wondering whether you could get funded workplace support, or you’re a manager or HR professional trying to guide your team through the process, the calculator gives you a quick, clear steer in a couple of minutes. No jargon, no guesswork.

Access to Work can fund things like specialist equipment, coaching, mentoring, and workplace adjustments, but so many people miss out simply because they don’t realise they’re eligible. We built this tool to close that gap.

Head over to the new site and give it a try: https://neurosparksolutions.com/neurodivergent-support-service/

Any questions about Access to Work or how we can support your organisation, drop us a message. We’re always happy to help.

Too many systems weren't built with neurodivergent people in mind - and that has real consequences, for individuals and for the people trying to support them.

That's why we're bringing two training sessions to Burnley on 11th September:

🧠 Morning: Neurodiversity Foundations
🤝 Afternoon: People & Community Manager Training

Come because you want to get this right, not just tick a box.

*A MESSAGE TO ALL HR COLLEAGUES*

HR teams get treated like they should have all the answers. Employment law, mental health, safeguarding, performance, wellbeing… and now neurodiversity on top of it all. Nobody hands you a manual and nobody expects you to have trained as a brain surgeon, but somehow the expectation is the same: know everything, get it right, first time.

That’s exactly why we built our brand new Supporting HR Teams page. Practical training, ongoing guidance and your own HR & People Portal, so you’ve got real backup when a situation lands on your desk, not just a slide deck from six months ago.

We’ve got your back. Plus drop us a message and you can have your own dedicated referral portal where you can refer cases, message us directly about cases and track reports, recommendations, coaching and training.

Check it out here: https://neurosparksolutions.com/supporting-hr-teams/

Access to Work is more comprehensive than most people realise. Here are three things it commonly funds that often come as a surprise.

Specialist coaching. This includes executive function coaching, ADHD coaching, and neurodiversity coaching aimed at helping people work more effectively. This is not generic wellness support; it is targeted, practical, and fundable.

Mental health support in the workplace. Where anxiety, depression, or other mental health conditions are connected to a neurodivergent profile, Access to Work can fund support beyond what an employer's standard occupational health provision covers.

Online learning platforms. The Neuro Sparks Wellbeing Solutions platform can be funded through Access to Work for individual employees. This means organisations do not need to budget for it directly, the individual applies and the funding comes through the scheme.

The scheme is not automatic. Applications need to describe the impact clearly and specifically. And the process has variables that can affect outcomes.

But for people who are neurodivergent and in work, Access to Work is genuinely transformative when it is used well.

If you want help understanding whether it applies to your situation, or support with an application, get in touch.
