Creating playgrounds that every child can enjoy has always been at the heart of what we do.

In this next part of our Somerton Play Park tour, Jo talks us through the inclusive features that make this playground accessible to as many children as possible, including an accessible roundabout, an in-ground trampoline, and smooth surfacing throughout the site.

She also highlights some of the bespoke play elements inspired by Somerton’s local heritage, helping to create a play space that’s not only inclusive but also unique to the community it serves.

There’s one final part of the tour still to come, so keep an eye out later this week to see the finishing touches that bring this fantastic playground together.

Well... we finally managed to get Jo Bailey on camera 😂

While attending the official opening of the new Somerton Play Park, Jo gave us a brilliant tour of the playground, explaining the thought process behind the design and highlighting the many features that make this project so unique.

In this first video, Jo takes us through the centrepiece of the playground—the impressive play tower—which is packed with exciting play elements for children to enjoy.

The new play area for Somerton Town Council is now open 🥳🥳

We’re delighted to share the official opening of this incredible new playground in Somerton and it’s safe to say it was one of the most memorable openings we’ve ever been part of.

We don’t think many people can say they’ve had a local town crier officially open one of their playgrounds! It was a fantastic way to mark the occasion, and hearing ESP PLAY get a special mention was certainly a first.

The ceremony perfectly reflected the character and heritage of Somerton, setting the tone for what became a brilliant day as local families filled the playground and children explored the space for the very first time.

This has been a significant project for the ESP Play team. After months of planning, collaboration, and hard work, seeing the playground come to life and become such a focal point for the community was incredibly rewarding.

What makes this project even more special is how the playground has been designed to celebrate the local area, with a number of bespoke features inspired by Somerton’s history and identity. It’s more than just a playground—it’s a place the whole community can be proud of.

A huge thank you to the council for organising such a fantastic launch event and to everyone involved in bringing this vision to life.

Moments like these remind us why we do what we do—creating spaces where children can play, families can connect, and communities can thrive for generations to come.

We’re delighted to share the completed outdoor play provision at Hetton Lyons Primary School, part of the Balmoral Learning Trust.

Seeing the transformation of this space has been incredibly rewarding. What was once a largely unused, barren area has been reimagined into a vibrant environment where children can play, explore, and learn.

The new play space features a wide range of equipment designed to encourage physical activity, spark creativity, and provide inclusive play opportunities for children of all ages and abilities.

The most rewarding part of any project is seeing children embrace these spaces—watching their imaginations come to life, their confidence grow and knowing we’ve created something that will benefit the school community for years to come. That’s what makes every project worthwhile.

Since then, Macie has completed her apprenticeship and is now a Sales Administrator, continuing to thrive.
