Burry Port Neighbourhood Policing Team had the pleasure of attending Pembrey Country Park today, where officers were on hand to provide crime prevention advice and engage with visitors and tourists enjoying all that the park has to offer.
It was fantastic to see such a great turnout, with many people stopping to speak with us, ask questions and discuss issues that matter to them and their communities. Events such as these provide a valuable opportunity for us to engage with the public, offer reassurance and share practical advice on keeping themselves, their families and their property safe.
We would like to thank everyone who took the time to come and speak with us today and for the positive and engaging conversations throughout the event.
A special thank you also goes to Councillor Mike Thomas for popping along and showing his support. It was greatly appreciated and highlights the importance of working together with our local communities and partners.
We look forward to attending more community events in the future and continuing to support those who live in, work in and visit our local area.

We are aware of footage circulating on social media relating to animal cruelty at an address in the Pinged area of Carmarthenshire.

We’d like to clarify that this is old footage is from a previous incident which was reported to police and investigated at the time.

Today (15 July), officers from our Rural Crime Team conducted a joint visit the RSPCA at the address in question, following renewed concerns raised within the community.

We’d like to reassure you that today’s visit found no evidence of animal cruelty at the property, and no concerns for the welfare of any animals.

Today PC 38 and PCSO 8137 have been out across the community carrying out proactive vehicle speed enforcement at the following locations:
📍 Heol y Meinciau, Pontyates, SA15 5TP

📍 Meinciau Road, Mynyddygarreg, SA17 4PS
These locations were selected following concerns raised by members of the public through the Dyfed connects surveys carried out last week. Thank you to everyone who took the time to share their views, your feedback helps us identify local priorities and direct our patrols to where they are needed most.
Our speed checks form part of our ongoing commitment to improving road safety, reducing speeding and helping to keep our communities safe for everyone. Officers identified multiple speeding infringements whilst out today, the highest speed reaching 40MPH on a 20MPH road, A total of 13 drivers were pulled over and spoken to regarding their manner of driving and dealt with accordingly.
Thank you to the many drivers who were travelling within the speed limit. If you’re behind the wheel, please continue to drive responsibly, obey the speed limits, and remember that every journey matters.

Today, I had the pleasure of attending the Pembrey, Burry Port and District Combined Services Association alongside Nicola Davies from Carmarthenshire County Council.
Nicola delivered an informative and engaging presentation on Scams Awareness, highlighting the latest scam techniques, how to recognise warning signs, and the steps people can take to protect themselves and their families from fraud.
The session was very well attended, and it was encouraging to see such excellent engagement from everyone present. The group asked a number of thoughtful questions, leading to valuable discussions and the sharing of experiences that will undoubtedly help raise awareness within the wider community.
A sincere thank you to the Pembrey, Burry Port and District Combined Services Association for the kind invitation and warm welcome. It was a pleasure to speak with the group, and we greatly appreciated your participation, enthusiasm, and the excellent questions throughout the session. Working together to raise awareness is an important step in helping to keep our communities safe from scams.

🚓 Your Local Neighbourhood Policing Team – Out and About in the Community! 🚓

Your local Neighbourhood Policing Team has had a busy few weeks, attending a variety of community engagement events across the area.

We were delighted to attend the Armed Forces event at Pembrey Country Park, where it was fantastic to meet members of the community and show our support for those who serve and have served.

We also joined the Women's Shed group in Burry Port alongside Trading Standards to deliver safeguarding advice, helping to raise awareness of scams and provide practical information to keep our communities safe.

More recently, we hosted a Cupper with a Copper event at St Mary's Church in Kidwelly. We were pleased to be joined by County Councillor Lewis Davies and Kidwelly Town Councillor Jeanette Gilasbey, and we'd like to extend a sincere thank you to Father Jim Flanagan for his warm welcome and hospitality.

A big thank you to everyone who came along to chat with us. These events are a great opportunity to listen to your concerns, answer questions, and strengthen the relationships that help keep our communities safe.

We will also be attending and arranging more events over the summer months, so please keep an eye out for future dates and opportunities to come and say hello.

Successful Community Bike Security Event Held at Parc Stephens, Kidwelly
This evening, the Kidwelly Neighbourhood Policing Team was delighted to welcome members of the local community to Parc Stephens, Kidwelly, for a successful bike security marking event.
Residents were invited to bring along their bicycles to be security marked and registered on BikeRegister, the UK's national cycle database. By marking and coding bicycles, owners have an added layer of protection against theft, while increasing the chances of their bikes being identified and returned if they are ever recovered by police.
The event provided a great opportunity for officers to engage with the community, offer crime prevention advice, and help cyclists take a simple but effective step towards protecting their property.
We would like to thank everyone who attended and helped make the event such a success. It was fantastic to see so many people taking a proactive approach to cycle security.
If you weren't able to join us this evening, don't worry—we'll be back again soon with another opportunity to have your bike security marked and registered.
