Applications for the new Housing Register are now open

If East Staffordshire Borough Council has advised you to apply to the new Housing Register, please follow the Council's guidance.

If you're unsure what action you need to take, support and FAQs are available on the council's website.

Remember, the current Housing Register remains in operation until 1 December 2026.

Our offices will be closed on Bank Holiday Monday 31 August.

Our teams will be unavailable to respond to customer queries, so please call us on 01283 528528 to make a payment or report any emergencies using our automated payment line.

To report an emergency, please select option 2 to be transferred to our out-of-hours team.

Emergencies include hot water or gas central heating problems, or any issue in your home that represents an immediate risk to safety, security or health.

Please note that you can also make payments at any Post Office, Payzone or Paypoint outlet.

We will reopen at 9am on Tuesday 1 September.

📍Use data to develop, facilitate and support a range of community projects
📍Assist and lead, when required, in community events and activities

Important update ⚠️

We’re sorry to let you know that the Stapenhill Fun Day, planned for tomorrow (27 August), has been cancelled due to the torrential rain and thunderstorms forecast. Yellow weather warnings are in place across the UK.

The safety and wellbeing of everyone involved is our top priority.

As a result, we will open our 181 Community Cafe in Hawfield Lane, Winshill and Short Street cafe in Stapenhill as usual.

help deliver an effective, customer-focused and value-for-money responsive repairs service across both occupied and vacant homes.

Housing Register changes: key dates

📅 1 September 2026 - Applications open for the new Council-managed Housing Register

📅 1 December 2026 - East Staffordshire Borough Council takes over management of the Housing Register and Lettings Service

Until then, the current Housing Register will continue as normal.

There's nothing you need to do unless ESBC has asked you to.
