A lovely update and some photos from Viv Moxham below. These look incredibly professional! 👏🏻

Following a talk from Tony Waldron about ‘pictures in glass and stained glass windows’,
which ended with a demonstration of how to do the latter, a trio of learners decided to
try and find a workshop to have a go at some sort of glasswork themselves.

After some internet research, three of us booked a session at www.craftyglassstudio.co.uk in Ockbrook, Derby, for a 2.5 hour glass fusion workshop last week.

Under the expert, and very patient, tutelage of Jyoti, we each created very different pieces of glassware – free standing curved panels and candle lit panels as well as sun catchers. After leaving what we thought were some amateurish offerings to be fired in the kiln, we were amazed at our final results.

The inspiration to have a go and the end products go to show ‘It’s Never Too Late To Learn’… It’s fair to say that all three of us were thrilled with the end products.

The perfect way to brighten up a rainy day! 🍓🫖

Here are some photos from our strawberry afternoon tea today at The Mulberry restaurant. Lovely food, lots of chatting, a quiz and a mini-session with Deborah Haywood made for a really enjoyable afternoon.

We’ve learned a lot about weather and weather forecasting over the last couple of weeks. 🌦️

Helen’s sent us details of a useful weather app for smartphones. It’s called ‘hang the washing?’ and it’s free to download and use (the image on the last photo will help you to find it in your App Store).

Great for those days when you’re not quite sure whether your washing will dry on the line outside! 🧺

Looks like cats and dogs to me? 🤔😂

The view from my office window today reminds me of the session I ran for the It's Never Too Late to Learn course yesterday, where I asked the group to name the three types of rainfall.

Just wondering: is this drizzle, mizzle or cats and dogs? 🤔

Spoiler alert if you’re in next week’s group: these were NOT the right answers! 😂
