Good numbers of wader on the reserve today with Ruff, Avocet, Redshank and Oystercatcher all reported. Three Little Ringed Plover were feeding on the far side of the main scrape for much of the day. A number of visitors captured some great images of the Cinnamon Teal which was resting up just below the visitor centre and some wonderful reports of spectacular dragonflies across the reserve on what was another humid day!

The Cinnamon Teal is still about on the reception pool. Some very nice photographs taken by John Hewitt 📷

Another hot day on the reserve with the regular habitants and visitors taking it easy. However a visit from an escapee Cinnamon Teal has been a bit of a rarity today and the zip of blue from the Kingfisher passing through is always a joy to see.
Please everyone take it easy with the heat. There is fresh water outside the visitors centre, so feel free to help yourself and remember the reserve car park closes at 7pm.

A bit of a scorching day but nevertheless, as always some great .

It's looking like a brilliant breeding season across all the areas we look after and it hasn't gone unnoticed by some very grateful visitors.

So thank you all for appreciating all the hard work the staff and the fantastic volunteers do here.

Your positive comments mean the world to us all.
