The heat-health alert for the East of England has now been upgraded to AMBER.

Be sun-safe and if you can, avoid direct sun between 11am–3pm, stay in the shade where possible, and wear suitable clothing. Don’t forget to regularly reapply at least a SPF 30+ sunscreen with high UVA protection.

🟠⚠ Amber heat-health alerts have been issued to the health systems across central England until Wednesday 27 May, with yellow alerts covering the rest of the country.
While hot weather may be welcome for some, it can still have a serious impact on people’s health and wellbeing. Early warnings help those in health and social care, as well as anyone supporting more vulnerable individuals, such as older adults and young children, to prepare and take appropriate action.

☀️Yellow Heat-Health Alert for East of England (Friday 22 May until 5pm Wednesday 27 May)

We’re expecting temperatures up to 31°C in Thurston, so while the sunshine is welcome, some people may find the heat a bit too much.

Please take a moment to check in on older neighbours, friends and family, especially those living alone, to make sure they’re keeping cool and drinking enough water.
