We're big fans of the Chief Master Sergeant of the Air Force of course, but even more now after reading the 3rd edition of the Why Series!
Chief Wolfe has a lot to say about the importance of adults being lifelong readers and how being so enriches all aspects of life. He emphasises this doesn't mean everyone in the USAF reading the same leadership books, but everyone finding what sparks their interest and giving themselves time for pursuing those threads.

With the Summer Reading Program coming up (register with us now at https://rafmildenhall.beanstack.org/ !) it's the perfect time to get back to being a regular reader. You don't have to dive in to the deep end immediately, especially if it's been a while since you've had the time to dedicate to reading. We have a bit of advice up along with a selection of fiction and non-fiction titles that we think are good quality just in case you need a suggestion :)

If you missed the Why piece on reading, we have it on the display along with some printed copies you can take with you. We also have information about the online resources the USAF pays for so you don't have to - this includes several options for finding eBooks and audiobooks to enjoy.

We're here, where are you!? Just kidding, we did an early set-up, the Showcase doesn't start until 1200. But please do come and visit the Library's table - it's a great time for a casual chat and to find out about everything we can offer from college research support for adults to pre-readers Storytime fun & crafts.

Miss Tracey and Miss Julie are there to start, so it's also the perfect time to get a preview of one of the Summer Reading Program events for adults - 3D printing and paper-flower making! Do drop by between 1200 and 1500 to say hi :) Upstairs in the ballroom at the Galaxy Club!

Want to see your favourite (!) library team in the wild? ;) Tomorrow we'll be attending the Base Agency Showcase at the Galaxy Club. Find us and a whole HOST of clubs, education experts, and activities on display. It's FREE for everyone; families welcome!
We're told there will be a bounce-house in front of the theatre if any children or junior officers need to burn off some Friday afternoon energy before/after dropping by :)

Look at the STATE of our Manga shelves ;) All these fabulous new titles were suggested by YOU, our super patrons/followers :)

DEAR PARENTS OR OTHERS NEW TO MANGA: Please note all our Manga is in the 'adult' room of the library for a reason. Despite the flashy appearance, Manga is by no means aimed at children, and our major reason for expanding our collection was to appeal to the swiftly growing numbers of adult readers.
Thus there are some titles here which are thoroughly 18+, but other popular titles read by adults are suitable for reading by most 12+ aged folks.

Because of this mix we are requesting that PARENTS MUST BE RESPONSIBLE FOR MONITORING THE CONTENT of any titles your kiddos are checking out.
If your child/teen visits the library on their own and you have a concern, please speak to us here and we can add a note to their account saying they cannot check out material without you present to review it first.
