RAF Mildenhall Library RAF Mildenhall Library serves the RAFM community through book, DVD, and game lending. We are CLOSED on US Federal holidays & USAFE/Base Days.

We offer many programs throughout the year, from preschoolers Storytime to educational seminars for adults.

We're back for STORYTIME tomorrow from 11am! Miss Julie - including her sparkly rhinestone cowboy hat - will be doing a special Dolly Parton tribute. The book will be Dolly's own "Coat of Many Colours" story, and the craft will be painting our own colourful coats. There will also be a snack. All young children are welcome! :)

We've been quiet lately due to some access issues, but we've been keeping up with the news - so we are part of the community very sad at the loss of one of the world's leading advocates for reading and literacy, the incomparable Dolly Parton.
Miss Julie will be doing a special Dolly edition of Storytime tomorrow (more on that later!)
The staff also enjoyed paging through one of the books we have: "Dolly Parton: Behind the Seams", a superb coffee-table style book with loads of information about Dolly's outfits over the years. It's written by her, so it has lots of reflection about the time in her life etc.
So of course we all picked out a few of our favourite outfits...

A reminder the library will be closed tomorrow, Wednesday 16th August, for the Squadron Proficiency & Contingency Readiness Day. There will be NO STORYTIME.
The staff computers currently have no internet access so if you have any questions that require a quick answer CAN YOU PLEASE PHONE US on 238-2352/01638 542352 as we are not able to monitor the gmail at the front desk as we would normally. Computer room internet access remains fine! Thank you! :)

The Summer Reading Program is over so Miss Julie is taking a VERY well deserved hiatus from the musical energy of Bouncy Beats...BUT STORYTIME ROLLS ON!
Join us from 11am for a shared reading of "Tickle Monster" and then your chance to make your own Tickle Monster craft, whether he's himself or...other things??!
Then of course there will be a snack and a chance to chat, do the scavenger hunt, or whatever else you fancy.
As always, all young children are welcome! It's also a great chance to meet other parents if you're new to the RAF Mildenhall area :)

Good morning and THANK YOU to everyone who logged their minutes to round out the Summer Reading Program for 2026!
You wonderful people read an incredible 509,762 minutes!

If we take an average reading time for War & Peace of 40 hours (2,400 minutes) our total is the equivalent of 212 people slogging through Tolstoy...or one really insane person reading it 212 times ;)

This will be our last reminder to PLEASE LOG YOUR MINUTES for the 2026 Summer Reading Program. You have until midnight tonight to either register and back-log your reading for the summer, or to catch up on those few outstanding sessions.

Thanks to everyone who braved the raging heat to come out to the Finale party yesterday 😎 And a HUGE thank you to our amazing volunteers who roasted themselves out there to make it all happen. We are SO grateful to you! 💖💖💖
PLEASE KEEP LOGGING YOUR MINUTES! THE CUT OFF TIME IS AT MIDNIGHT SUNDAY 16TH! We still have a chance of getting to 500,000 minutes if everyone remembers to back-log their reading for the past 8 weeks :) (Yes that includes the staff who need to log!)
