We had a great session this afternoon with lots of opportunities to use our horse motor skills 💪🏻

Using gross motor skills gives toddlers the physical foundation, confidence, and cognitive mapping necessary to explore and understand their world. By engaging large muscle groups for movements like running, climbing, and jumping, toddlers strengthen their core, bones, and joints while rapidly improving their balance, posture, and spatial awareness.

We have enjoyed exploring the oral health resources today and dressing up as a dentist

Establishing good oral health habits in young children is a cornerstone of their overall physical development and long-term well-being. Although primary "baby" teeth eventually fall out, they serve critical immediate functions: they allow children to bite and chew nutritious foods properly, support essential speech and language development, and preserve the exact physical alignment needed to guide permanent adult teeth into place. According to guidance from the UK Department for Education, neglecting early dental hygiene can lead to painful tooth decay and infections, which are major disruptors to a child's sleep, learning, and self-esteem. By introduces simple routines early—such as brushing twice daily with fluoride toothpaste and limiting free sugars—parents and caregivers protect children from preventable hospital procedures and build healthy habits that safeguard their smiles for life.

Join me at Proptastic tales tomorrow ( Wed 3rd June) at 1pm.

We will be reading the story "Walking through the jungle". This is a lovely repetitive story which will enable the children to join in.

After the story, we will be doing some linked activities and songs to embed the language and develop children's imaginative skills and role play.

We managed to get outside today, in between the rain but the children preferred to come in and watch the rain which is fascinating through their little eyes.

Before this, they were experimenting in different ways they could use the slide.

The motion of sliding stimulates the inner ear, which is vital for balance, body control, and posture.

They were also showing good turn taking skills as they waited. Waiting in line and negotiating space at the top also teaches patience, empathy, and early communication.

All the parents were very happy with their FREE books . Thank you for coming, Jennie, Jo & Sheri xx
