Welcome to the Sudanese Community in Bury, a registered Community group in Bury Council and a vital hub for the Sudanese community residing in the Borough. With an unwavering commitment to excellence in community development, we envision a future where growth thrives, and connections are strengthened. Our dedicated board of
trustees, chosen through annual general assembly elections, governs our community association. Our mission is to empower and innovate, benefitting not only our local community but also those connected to Sudan across the UK. One of our primary objectives is to offer essential aid to migrants, refugees, and asylum seekers facing hardship and distress. Through our efforts, we strive to enhance education and training opportunities, promoting greater community integration. We believe in fostering a culture of continual learning and social engagement. Our weekend community schools and diverse programs provide a platform for growth and engagement. In addition to education, we provide a range of services including representation, counseling, translation, and interpretation. Our aim is to ensure that everyone feels supported and understood. At the heart of our community association is the availability of spaces for communal gatherings, sports, and leisure activities. We believe in creating environments where individuals can come together, connect, and strengthen bonds. The scope of our offerings extends beyond physical spaces and encompasses enriching youth and family and children activities. We also provide essential guidance on asylum, immigration, education, employment, and health. Whether it's through self-referred appointments or over the phone, our support is just a call away. We are proud to collaborate with other non-governmental organizations, working together to extend support to displaced communities, bolster education and healthcare, and empower women.
