The early years foundation stage (EYFS) statutory framework is mandatory for all early years settings. It sets the standards that all early years providers must meet to ensure that children learn and develop well, and are kept healthy and safe.

✨Have Your Say on the…
GM Early Years Mental Health Hub (2–5s Project). ✨
It is a two-year test-and-learn programme
hosted by Stockport Family on behalf of the Greater Manchester Combined Authority (GMCA).

The new team pictured below, are working to promote understanding of early years mental health across Greater Manchester.

They aim to improve support to fathers, mothers, caregivers and professionals to build strong, secure
relationships with young children, recognising that these early connections are the foundation for positive
mental health and healthy development. They also want to engage with professionals and
parents across GM to find out what is needed and wanted so they can then plan the next phase of the
project.

✨Some of you may have already met Sara on the left in the photo below as she attended the recent ‘Side by Side Network’! ✨

🙋🏾🙋‍♂️How You Can Help

They would be grateful if you could:
• Complete the Professionals' Survey to help them establish a baseline understanding of needs
and views across all GM localities.

Toddler & Preschool Wellbeing: A Survey for Fathers, Mothers and Carers of Children Aged 2–5

Overview
The Greater Manchester Early Years Mental Health Hub (2-5s Project) is two-year project to help us to understand and better support the social-emotional development and mental health of children aged 2-5 years.
The project will use information gathered through this survey to test better ways to offer support to families and carers. We are working closely with parents, carers, and professionals to design this project together. This will make sure it:
• Is easy to access
• Works well with services families already use
• Meets the real needs of families from different backgrounds

Why your views matter
This short survey will help us understand the needs of 2–5 year olds and their families, including where there may be gaps or differences in support.
Taking part is completely voluntary, but your feedback is really important. It will help us design early mental health support that:
• Focuses on families
• Meets the needs of young children and their carers
• Is available at the right time
By sharing your views, you will help us improve support for children and families across Greater Manchester.
We want to understand what would make life easier for fathers, mothers and all carers of children aged 2-5yrs in Greater Manchester.
Your responses will remain anonymous.
