Hi Folks - just an update, we don't have much in the way of excess kids books left now, as someone took the entire box left out this morning. I've refilled with some spares, but as children's books are already the ones we burn through and often get taken quickest there won't be many extras out over the rest of the weekend. You can still find some inside the book nook itself if you're passing by, but if you were coming specifically for the box of extra kids books, that is now very sparse! Sorry!

I was very lucky to get this copy of The Harpy from Lowther Road Free Little Library in Prestwich and I devoured it; read the entire book in one evening! So now it has travelled into the Book Nook ready for its next reader ❤️ we've also had lots of turnover in the book nook so plenty of other great options too!

Hi folks - as the weather is looking to be nice for the rest of the week from today until Sunday we'll have a table of extra free books available next to Sunny Bank Book Nook from 9am - 9pm. I'll keep filling it up with more books as more are taken. The table will be books for adults (though there are some children's books in the nook as usual) as I'll be doing a special children's book event when the schools break up for summer.

Just popped in the book nook - a book I read on holiday. This isn't just a book you read, it's a case you solve! The story is told in transcripts of a true crime TV show where six experts are trying to solve a cold case. You receive the evidence like they do piece by piece, can you solve the case before they do? I really enjoyed this one - I was sure I had worked out who the killer was, and was so close, but it still surprised me at the end!

Also fresh in today, a lovely person has put the Lord of the Rings trilogy in the book nook too! Thank you kind person!

What are you reading at the moment? I'm just starting The Twyford Code which a lovely person left in the book nook recently! I've just finished The Good Lie by A. R. Torre, which was only around 250 pages but an excellent thriller with a brilliant twist that I devoured in only 2 days and I've popped that in the book nook this morning for the next person to enjoy!
