Meet Olivia 👋

Olivia joined Protective Care Group last year as a Support Worker, bringing with her a strong background in working with vulnerable people and a genuine passion for making a positive difference in the lives of young people.

Since then, she’s supported two young people with very different backgrounds, needs and behaviours. By adapting her approach, focusing on building trust and delivering consistent support through both challenges and progress, Olivia has made a meaningful impact.

It’s the care, adaptability and resilience of people like Olivia that truly help young people feel supported, understood and cared for - sometimes for the first time in a long time.

We’re proud to announce that we’ve been awarded the GOLD Partner Award by the Forces Transition Group Ltd!🏆

This is a huge honour and a testament to the incredible work happening across Protective Care Group to support members of the Armed Forces, their families and Blue Light services as they transition into new careers.

For many of us at Protective Care Group, this community holds deep personal meaning, so partnering with FTG felt like a natural and important step from the very beginning.

Since partnering in February 2025, we’ve:
🤝 Attended in-person and virtual job fairs
🎙️ Recorded a podcast
🗣️ Engaged in lots of conversations to highlight the meaningful careers we offer

Receiving a Gold Award in such a short time is truly remarkable and it wouldn’t have been possible without the commitment and passion of our people.

We’d also like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the whole Forces Transition Group Ltd team. Our Welfare and Wellbeing Specialist, Meg, has shared her top tips for looking after your mental health this World Mental Health Day. Whether it’s building small daily habits or knowing when to reach out for support, there’s always something we can do to protect our wellbeing today and every day going forward.

In an industry where supporting young people, many who have experienced trauma, is at the centre of what we do, it’s essential that we also take care of ourselves. Being trauma-informed doesn’t just mean understanding the needs of others, it also means recognising how our own emotions and mental health impact the way we care, respond and connect.

When we take time to check in with ourselves, we’re better equipped to show up for the young people who need us most.

Let’s keep the conversation around mental health open, honest and ongoing. You never know who might be silently struggling and how much your support could mean.
