Freelance Senior Structural Engineer required on a project basis at our office in Caldicot
About us
Ocean Resource design complex offshore structures including platforms, flare towers, modules, autonomous buoy systems, wind turbine foundation systems and process facilities. We have provided a consistent engineering design and consultancy service to the offshore, petrochemical, energy and defence industries for many years carrying out a wide range of complex and innovative projects.
We are looking for a Senior Structural Engineer with around 5 years experience of providing structural/stress analysis of complex structures including shallow water (0 to 60 metres) self-installing Oil/Gas production, Gas to Wire power production platforms and large unmanned tension-leg Autonomous Field Control Buoy Systems. We require you to be efficient with STAAD.PROincluding FEM analysis and physical modelling, development of design detailing, structural specifications, implementation of analysis on any structure exposed to static, dynamic, wind, earthquake, thermal, and moving loads. Familiarity with major design codes including Eurocodes 2,3 and 7. Also API RP2A – Fixed Offshore Platforms.
Work would be office based as part of a team working at Ocean's Caldicot Office on Oil/Gas Production, Floating Wind and Carbon Sequestration. Employment would be on a subcontract project term basis. Rates to be discussed. Start date and length of contract to be confirmed. Normal working hours Monday - Friday 9am - 5pm.
