It is Defib Tuesday, and this week the team is at 𝗞𝗶𝗻𝗯𝘂𝗰𝗸 𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗺𝘂𝗻𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗖𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗿𝗲.

The defibrillator is publicly accessible on the outside of the building. A small rural village hall like this sits at the heart of the community, so it is a good one to have marked on the map.

A few weeks ago, the team ran a community CPR class in Kinlochard.

Attendees learned the basics of CPR and how to use a defibrillator, giving them the skills and confidence to act if someone nearby goes into cardiac arrest.

Starting CPR straight away and using a defibrillator as soon as one is available can more than double a person's chance of survival, so sessions like this one make a real difference to the community.

Our very own Superstar Bowie is going to be on TV!

and his handler Amanda are joining 5 News with Dan Walker TV live tomorrow, between 5pm and 6pm, after winning a Make A Difference Award.

Bowie has spent years working alongside the team on search and rescue operations across the area, and this recognition is richly deserved. It's brilliant to see the pair getting the national attention they deserve.

Tune in tomorrow to see Bowie and Amanda on the national news.

They have only just gone and done it!

You may remember our post from a few months ago when Bowie was shortlisted for the BBC Scotland Make A Difference Awards. Well, Bowie has now won the Animal Award.

The Animal Award recognises a remarkable animal that improves people's lives. Bowie was named after David Bowie for his distinctive blue and brown eyes. He started life as a rescue dog before qualifying as an operational search dog with Trossachs Search and Rescue, working alongside handler Amanda to help find missing people across the area. He previously worked as a therapy dog, supporting people living with dementia and students.

Judge Gavin Mitchell, known for playing Boaby the barman in Still Game, called Bowie's journey from rescue dog to helping others inspirational. Bowie and Amanda joined presenter Connie McLaughlin on BBC Radio Scotland this morning.

The whole team is proud of Amanda and Bowie. Well done, Starman!

28 years today. 🎗️

On this day in 1998, Trossachs Search and Rescue became a registered charity, and nearly three decades on, we're still here: dogs, defibrillators, and a team of volunteers who show up whenever they're needed, day or night, all weathers.

From two dogs and a handler in the early days to the team we are now, thank you to every volunteer, supporter, and community member who's been part of the journey. Here's to the next 28 years.
