🔥 PROUD MOMENT FOR CALLINGTON FIRE STATION! 🔥

We are absolutely thrilled to announce that Dan (FF Chowings) has officially passed his 3-year probation period and is now a fully qualified, fully-fledged on-call firefighter! 🚒👏The journey to becoming an operational firefighter is grueling, but doing it as an on-call firefighter takes a truly unique level of dedication.

For the last 36 months, Dan has selflessly balanced his main career, family commitments, and personal life to drop everything at a moment's notice whenever his alerter goes off. From the intense initial training courses and late-night drill nights to tackling challenging emergency shouts in all kinds of weather, Dan has proven his grit, skills, and unwavering teamwork. He has worked tirelessly to meet the incredibly high standards required to protect the Callington community and the wider Cornwall area.

Dan, you have earned your place in this crew tenfold. The whole team at Callington Fire Station and across Cornwall Fire and Rescue Service is immensely proud of the professional you’ve become. Thank you for your sacrifices and for your absolute commitment to keeping our town safe.

🚨 Callington Fire Station – July 2026 Incident Update 🚨

This month, so far our crew has been working tirelessly responding to 31 incidents across Devon and Cornwall, ensuring the safety of our communities. Here’s a breakdown of our key callouts:

🔥 Fires in the Open – Multiple callouts to fires in open spaces, including incidents in Devon and St Just, with crews working quickly to contain and extinguish the flames.

🚑 Assist Ambulances – We’ve supported our ambulance colleagues with vulnerable occupants, ensuring those in need receive the care and attention they deserve.

🚗 Vehicle Fires – Several vehicle fires have kept our crews busy, with rapid responses to prevent further risk.

🏡 Residential Fire in Devon – A swift response to a house fire in Devon ensured the safety of residents and minimised damage.

🛟 Welfare Support – During extended incidents, our team has been providing welfare support to those affected, offering assistance where needed.

🚨 Standby Covers – We’ve maintained standby covers to ensure rapid response capabilities across the region.

🎉 Community Events – Despite our busy schedule, we’ve still made time to engage with the community, attending local events and reminding everyone to stay safe.

Our crew remains committed to protecting lives, property, and the environment.

Where do you charge yours?
Ebikes, escooters, vapes, phones...the list goes on. Check where you charge!

👉 Never charge ebikes and escooters overnight or in a potential escape route.
👉 Vapes and smaller rechargeable items should be charged out of direct sunlight and never leave unattended or rest on anything that could easily catch fire such as pillows or sofas.

🥵🥵 A RED warning for heat has been issued for parts of Cornwall until 11pm on Thursday (25 June).

An amber warning is in place for north, east and the mid areas of Cornwall.
