❤️ Enjoy this treat we were given on the Calne Wordfest Facebook group ❤️ ❤️
Thank you so much! 🫶 ✍
To celebrate the national year of reading, Calne Wordfest is sharing a poem a day this month. These poems, (mostly triolets - see comments for more) written by local poets are a celebration of the different jobs and workplaces in our little town, and also look at some memorable local places both past and present. We hope you enjoy reading them.
This one is for Calne Community Campus
Poem number 4 is pictured on a post it note, and is written by Ruth Hill.
Leisure
The hubbub of laughter and splashes
A place to play and take a dip,
Communal sport and Santa dashes
Teams together and team clashes
Family fun and exercise classes
For locals and schools, or tourist trips,
The hubbub of laughter and splashes
A place to play and take a dip.
