🏆 Celebrating excellence in sustainable, high‑quality placemaking!
Last night, the winners of the 2026 Greater Cambridge Design and Construction Awards were announced at a packed ceremony at Pembroke College’s Auditorium. The awards - run by Greater Cambridge Shared Planning and the Cambridge Forum for the Construction Industry - shine a spotlight on the very best of new construction, conservation and design innovation across Cambridge and South Cambridgeshire.
This year’s entries showcased an exceptional range of projects: new community buildings, major research facilities, careful restorations, new neighbourhoods, and engineering solutions supporting sustainable growth.
🌱 The awards reflect our shared ambition, with South Cambridgeshire District Council and Cambridge City Council, to deliver environmentally responsible, high‑quality places for our communities.
🏅 Highlights from this year’s winners include:
• Cottenham Village Hall - Best New Building (under £3m)
• Ray Dolby Centre - Best New Building (over £3m)
• Christ’s College, First Court and Arts Theatre – top honours in Conservation
• Hinsley Lane - Best New Neighbourhood
• Arts Theatre - Craftsmanship award
• Portugal Place - David Mackay Award for Engineering and Sustainability
• SDC for Brooklands - Contractor award
• And a celebration of emerging talent across the sector, including Apprentice Olivia Durrant (CB3 Consulting), Young Professional Jess Tyson (MCW Architects) and Site Manager of the Year Tom Kindred (SDC).
A huge congratulations to all the winners, highly commended teams and emerging professionals recognised this year. Thank you to the CFCI for hosting, and to event sponsor Pipe Centre for its support.
