So, as many now know, the local election results are now in.

In my ward of Histon & Impington, we local Greens came 2nd to Lib Dems, placing 4th, 5th, and 6th. We closed the gap between Greens and Lib Dems by 4%, Green gained 2% and Lib Dems lost 2%. So despite not winning, we still had a success. Reform got 11%, which, although higher than I wanted, they was a long way behind. It is a political fight between only Greens and Lib Dems, there is zero need to vote tactically here.

Cambridge gained 7 Green seats, making Greens the official opposition party 💚✊️🥳🍻

Across Cambridge and South Cambridgeshire the Greens have significantly grown their vote share and placing 2nd in most wards that we didn't win in. So, although we didn't win in all seats, I still feel we had huge success in making significant gains 💚💚💚

In Cambridge and South Cambridgeshire it's not long until the next local election (1 or 2 years) as we are the local councils are merging into a Unitary authority. This means we don't have wait as long to have another chance and learn from this campaign. Next campaign we will need far more focus and support in the South Cambridgeshire wards like my ward and Shelford ward. If anyone wants to volunteer, help and join aour amazing Green team:

I want to say thank you to everyone in my team who made this campaign so brillant. Many residents commented on how impressed they were with campaign, saying that it was the best campaign they've ever seen and was far better than all others, so that is truly lovely feedback. The day is fast coming to a close (voting end at 10pm), it's been a great day with what appears to be a high voter turnout 🗳

T̶o̶m̶o̶r̶r̶o̶w̶ Today is voting day (7 May) and there are Green candidates up and down the country hoping to get your vote, so they can start representing you and working hard for the community.

In areas with Green representatives, the comminities get more policies put forward and actioned, meaning the infrastructure and services improve, with more green spaces and protected areas benefitting all society. Green representatives work hard for their communities, will always listen and do all they can to solve any issues.

This video took over 20 hours to put together, collating and editing every single photo, creating the background and every page (51 in total), and then adding the music, it was a labour of love but I am pleased with the results. This video was for all Greens across the country (sorry I couldn't get all Greens in it) and although it shows just a selection of the many many fantastic Green candidates and supporters, all fighting for a fairer, greener and equal future for all 💚💚💚 peace, love, hope and unity to all 💚💚💚

Today was our last Action Day before voting day on 7 May and it was a resounding success. We now only have 4 days until voting, the time has really flown by since we started campaigning and we are now in the final stretch.

Yesterday I met Green MP,Ellie Chowns, at Cambridge Big Day Out, where she gave a speech and went out posting leaflets. Myself, the Green Party candidates and Ellie were interviewed by Ranjan Balakunaran from The Canary (see earlier post), where we talked about important policies and topics, we each spoke about a policy we thought was important, though all our policies are important of course. What yesterday showed again, is that Greens have a lot of support and it's growing, and this is true, not only across Cambridge and South Cambridgeshire, but across the whole country.

In Histon & Impington ward and across Cambridge & South Cambridgeshire, Greens have a very strong chance of winning. So if you have wanted to vote Green in the past but voted tactically instead, now is your opportunity to vote with your heart and if you want real change with Green councillors, Vote Green.

Today I was interviewed by Canary journalist, Ranjan Balakunaran where I talked about the need for youth centers and public services.

We need to improve and set up Youth Centers and public services in the local communities across the country, including in Histon & Impington Ward, South Cambridgeshire.

Youth Canters have been shown to reduce anti-social behaviour and crime, ultimately saving money.

Public Services, such as GP surgeries, dentists, and mental health services in the community, are seriously lacking, causing huge strain on the public services and as such means people cannot access the support they need resulting in more serious health complications many cases. Prevention is better than cure and that's where local public services come in. New developments further compound these issues.

I stand with Palestine, and with the fundamental, inalienable rights of the Palestinian people to live in freedom, to determine their own future, and to exercise full self-determination over their land, lives, and destiny.

That is why I am proud to sign the pledge for Palestine, standing in solidarity with the Palestinian people, because no one is free until everyone is free.

The apartheid and genocide of Palestinians must end. Never again must mean never again for anyone.

The experiment of bus privatisation has been an unmitigated disaster.

Green councillors will campaign for publicly-controlled buses and free bus fares for all people under 22 years.

Yesterday was a lovely warm and sunny day for our Orchard Park Green Party Action Day in the Histon, Impington & Orchard Park ward. We've had some great conversations with residents in Orchard Park during the morning and afternoon session, and had a lovely lunch hosted by fellow Green candidate Paul-Emanuel Tarita

To finish off the day, a few of us went to the pub for a much needed relax and a drink in the sun 🍻☀️
