Greater Cambridge Partnership

Greater Cambridge Partnership Growing and sharing prosperity in Greater Cambridge with improvements to transport, housing, skills.

With funding worth £500 million over 15 years, the GCP is implementing vital improvements in infrastructure, supporting and accelerating the creation of 44,000 new jobs, 33,500 new homes and 420 additional apprenticeships. The partnership of councils, business and academia will work together, and with partners and local communities, to grow and share prosperity and improve quality of life for the

people of Greater Cambridge, now and in the future. The four partners are: Cambridge City Council, Cambridgeshire County Council, South Cambridgeshire District Council and the University of Cambridge. It is the largest of several City Deal programmes taking place in the UK and brings key partners together to work with communities, businesses and industry leaders to support the continued growth of one of the world’s leading tourism and business destinations.

We’re supporting the national Stamp It Out campaign to end abuse aimed at roadworkers. https://www.stampitout.uk/

In the past year, there have been 29 reports of threatening behaviour and four assaults against our highway officers, ranging from verbal abuse, intimidation, assault, and dangerous driving.

Our teams are working hard to fix our roads and paths – we ask people to please treat them with respect.

When we first met Amira, a Year 11 student in Cambridge, she wasn’t sure what career paths were open to her. Through a one-to-one careers guidance session with Form the Future, supported by the Greater Cambridge Partnership (GCP), she explored her strengths and interests and was encouraged to take part in a STEM employer visit.

That experience opened her eyes to new possibilities and gave her the confidence to choose A-level subjects aligned with her future ambitions. Amira’s story is just one of many.

Every week, with GCP’s support, we’re able to provide young people across Cambridge with:
• Tailored career advice
• Encounters with inspiring local employers
• Hands-on activities that bring the world of work to life

These opportunities don’t just help students decide on their next steps; they build confidence, raise aspirations, and connect young people with the incredible opportunities right here in our region.

For more information, contact [email protected] or visit www.formthefuture.org.uk.

Together, with the support of GCP, we can help young people see what’s possible.
