What matters is having time, patience, empathy and a strong support system- a fostering service helps build this with carers.

👉NOT PARENTED- you can foster

What matters is being willing to offer stability for young people, be sensitivity to past traumatic experiences, have a commitment to provide a nurturing and safe environment and work as part of a team.🌙🚀

👉I AM GAY / NON BINARY /TRANS -you can foster

You sexuality or gender identity does not prevent you from providing a stable, trauma informed environment. Being compassionate, curious and a strong advocate for young people who have experienced adversity is what matters. 🌙🚀

👉I AM NEURODIVERGENT - you can still foster

This does not prevent you providing a stable, nurturing and safe environment for young people, in fact it may well give you some additional understanding of the challenges and barriers young people may experience. 🌙🚀

July was a busy month as schools broke up we held our 4th annual Family day.

It is a time to bring our foster families, staff team and young people we care for together for a day at Orchard Park, Cambridgeshire.

This year we focused on well being with a beautiful sound bath by the talented Adrienn Ferencz at https://www.facebook.com/reikichargedbyAdrienn providing time to experience the relaxation created by a range of singing bowls, gongs and drums. There was also time for people to explore the instruments themselves.

Great game of rounders and basketball for those young and old, and time for our families and staff team to relax, share food, laughter and of course mindful activities with our clinical lead Jocasta at Headroom-roomforyourhead.

Fostering at Moon and Back you are never on your own, our dedicated social workers, walk with our families providing bespoke support for each individual family. We know it takes a village to raise a child and a community to foster. 🌙🚀

Step into the Community Hive at Cambridge Pride 🏳️‍🌈🏳️‍⚧️

Open from 1–5.30pm on Jesus Green, the Community Hive is a space to listen, learn, take part and connect with the people and organisations supporting our LGBTQIA+ community.

With the stage hosted by the fabulous Queenie B, the Community Hive will include singalong moments, children’s story time, folk music, accessibility discussion, community speakers, and our much-loved dog show with drag artists Knuckle Sandwich and Will Power.

Comedy will then continue in the Community Hive from 5.30–7.30pm, bringing laughter into the early evening.

What an end to the week for Moon and Back Foster care, with our two co-founders Alison Kindred Byrne and Angela Hunt at the National Business Woman's Awards 2026 as finalists for Service Excellence category.⭐️

To The Moon and Back Foster care are proud to be a female owned and managed organisation providing an inclusive space for individuals, families, young people who haven't always been given opportunities and privilege.

This event was full of room inspirational woman owning and leading in business. There was so much support in the room of each other.

We would like to take this time to thank all those who provide that work and care at To The Moon and Back Foster care- that means the organisation is recognised as outstanding and providing excellent front line care. 👏👏👏👏
