Not a sight you see every day: snowdrops among the autumn leaves 🍂 But is it too early? Not for this variety it isn’t 🌱

There’s always great excitement at Anglesey Abbey at the sight of the first snowdrop, and this year the Turkish species, galanthus peshmenii, has appeared just as it always does, flowering in September and October.

In the specialist collection at Anglesey Abbey, there are over 500 varieties of snowdrop. Some of the earliest include the Greek species, galanthus reginae-olgae (Queen Olga’s snowdrop), as well as galanthus ‘Autumn Beauty’ and galanthus elwesii ‘Rainbow Farm Early’.

Who knew the snowdrop season had already begun? 2027 tour dates coming soon😍

Winnie-the-Pooh has arrived! 🧸🍯

Come and celebrate 100 years of Winnie-the-Pooh and his friends in this charming story trail and Centenary exhibition at Anglesey Abbey, open from today until Sunday 3 January 2027.*

Created in collaboration with HarperCollins Publishers, you can enjoy some of Pooh’s best-known adventures from A.A Milne’s much-loved stories and E.H. Shephard’s classic illustrations exhibited around the autumnal gardens and inside the house at Anglesey Abbey. Free to enjoy as part of normal admission. We look forward to welcoming you!

* The house exhibition will be closed between 2 and 15 November. Anglesey Abbey will be entirely closed on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day ✨

House opening times in October 🏡🍁

Friday 2nd October
Please note that the house will be fully closed as the team pack down the Art of Collecting exhibition and set up the Winnie-the-Pooh Centenary exhibition.

Saturday 3rd - 31st October
The downstairs of the house and the new exhibition will be open to enjoy. The upstairs of the house can be accessed by tour only throughout October due to annual conservation work. Tours will take place on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays.

Discover more about how Lord Fairhaven built and displayed his remarkable collection in this guided tour: Collecting Passions. Please speak to a member of the welcome team on arrival if you would like to join a tour when you visit.

Just one week to go! 🍯From Winnie-the-Pooh with his honey-pot to Tigger bouncing through the landscape, follow the storyboards around the gardens at Anglesey Abbey from Saturday 3 October 2026 to Sunday 3 January 2027. Come and see E.H. Shepard’s classic illustrations come to life this autumn in this family-friendly story trail.

Created in collaboration with HarperCollins to celebrate the beloved bear’s 100th anniversary, you can also step inside the house to discover the Winnie-the-Pooh Centenary Exhibition (closed Monday 2 to Sunday 15 November 2026).

The trail is free to enjoy (normal admission applies).

🎃 Outdoor pumpkin painting
Join us from Monday 26 to Friday 30 October for a fun ceramic pumpkin painting session. Children can get creative with mess-free acrylic paint pens and take their creation home. Book online now to avoid disappointment. £4 per child (normal admission applies).

🍯 Winnie-the-Pooh story trail
Put on in collaboration with HarperCollins, Follow the storyboards around the gardens and enjoy a special exhibition inside the house in celebration of the beloved bear's 100th anniversary.

🌲Head to the Woodland Play Area, build a den and treat yourself to a hot drink and some homemade bakes from Caffe Mobile.
