Emergency Lighting is designed to activate if the mains power is cut off in the event of a fire or if there is a mains power failure. The emergency lighting should provide sufficient light to show escape routes to enable occupants to evacuate the building safely, illuminate fire safety equipment such as call points and fire extinguishers and should stay lit for the minimum emergency duration (usually 3 hours) after a mains failure.

It is important that your emergency lighting is serviced annually by a fully qualified engineer to ensure they work in the event of a fire or mains power failure. If any fail the test, we can quote to replace them just like we did here for one of our regular customers in Newmarket.

We've been carrying out Dry Riser Inspection & Testing this week at a business park in Cambridge.

Dry risers are installed in buildings, usually during the building’s construction phase, for firefighting purposes. They provide a way to quickly deliver large quantities of water to upper storeys of a building to extinguish or to prevent the spread of fire.

It is the responsibility of the landlord of the property or the Management Company (if applicable) to ensure dry risers are pressure tested annually and visually inspected at least every six months as failure to do so can result in severe penalties.

Our engineers carry out the tests with minimum disruption to your working environment and once completed will issue you with the appropriate reports and certification. If you have dry risers on your property, get in touch to arrange your dry riser inspection and testing.

Not only do we install fire alarm systems and intruder alarms, but we also maintain them. Regular servicing and maintenance of fire and security alarm systems is essential to make sure those systems perform when they’re needed most.

Last year we took over the servicing of this fire alarm and radio intruder alarm system in central Cambridge so the client has one company managing all their fire safety and security. Alongside the six-monthly fire alarm service, we also carry out annual maintenance on their access control, CCTV system and fire extinguishers.
