🚍 Big news for Cambridgeshire and Peterborough! 🚍
Bus services are changing for the better! We’re bringing them under public control with franchising to create a more reliable, affordable, and connected network.
🔹 What is bus franchising?
Right now, private bus companies decide routes and fares. With franchising, the Combined Authority will set the rules, designing a service that works for passengers first. Expect smarter routes, better connections, and a simpler system with consistent branding across the region.
📅 When will things change?
Franchising won’t happen overnight, but the first franchised buses will be on the road in 2027. We’ll keep you updated, listen to your feedback, and make sure the transition is smooth.
🚌 What’s already happening?
While we work on franchising, we’re already improving bus travel:
✅ £1 fares for under-25s with the Tiger Pass
✅ Tiger on Demand keeping rural communities connected
✅ The £2 fare cap making travel more affordable
Better buses are here – and even more improvements are on the way!
