Grove Ferry Picnic Site

Grove Ferry Picnic Site Grove Ferry is a popular public recreation site, a small but lovely, inclusive place for everyone. We allow canoeing and Canoe Wild are based here.

With a play park, picnic area, and circular walk along the river and around wildlife long grass and scrub. The area took its name from a hand drawn ferry that crossed the River Stour. The local pub, built in 1831 also takes the name The Grove Ferry Inn. The near-by Grove Ferry Bridge was renovated by Kent County Council in September 2000. This is close to the railway level crossing, the site of a

former dismantled railway station. Fishing rights were granted during the reign of King Henry II and are still available along the riverbank today from Canterbury and District Angling Association

Grove Ferry Boat Club, founded in 1964, whose club house is on the site, is home to recreation boats for enthusiasts and members.

Today marks my 1 year anniversary of being a full time walk leader. ๐Ÿฅณ
1 year ago today I left my 9-5 (after balancing walk leading part time for a few years), and decided to take a leap and see what could happen ๐Ÿฅพ

In the last year ive covered a lot of miles and learnt a lot!
I love our amazing community and can't wait for all our walks and adventures ahead, im so grateful to have met so many wonderful people, esp those who tolerate my happiness at seeing a trig ๐Ÿ˜†

I keep my skills as sharp as possible by surrounding myself in nature and the outdoors at all times, continously learning and doing first aid work to make sure im up-to-date at all times. Taking extra courses, investing in learning and spending time with those I can learn from as well as teach.

Freelance Walk leading allows me to travel the country and work with my peers as well as following passions like womens walks and connection to nature. In addition to working with some incredible charities thst have really touched my heart.

Here's to another year of exploring, learning and connection to people, nature and the amazing landscape we live in โ™ก
