Taking the EMPOWER HER conversation to the airwaves!

This morning, Keji and Carol popped over to Cabin Crew FM to talk about EMPOWER HER and the incredible work of Soroptimist International.

It was a wonderful opportunity to share our passion for empowering women and girls, raising awareness, creating opportunities and building communities where women feel supported, valued and confident to thrive.

At the heart of EMPOWER HER is a simple but powerful belief: when we empower a woman, we create a ripple effect that strengthens families, communities and future generations.

We also shared what it means to be a Soroptimist and how, through advocacy, action and service, we are working to make a meaningful difference in the lives of women and girls.

A big thank you to Cabin FM for welcoming us and giving us the opportunity to share our message.

Violence against women and girls has been declared a public health emergency.

There will now be help for victims and survivors of domestic abuse through GP practices. Backed by government funding, the new 'Steps to Safety' referral route will provide a link to local domestic abuse and sexual violence support.

The NHS is often the first place victims feel able to speak about their abuse and, wherever someone asks for help, we must ensure they receive the support they need.

An important step, and all part of our mission to halve violence against women and girls in a decade.

1,572 projects, 167,858 women and girls supported, 93,181 volunteer hours, and £458,947 raised — what a year for Soroptimists across our Federation.

These results from our 2025-2026 annual report demonstrate the extraordinary power of collective action. When we get together for our annual conference later this month, we'll have plenty to celebrate and build on.

RO KENT CIC, in collaboration with Soroptimist International South East England, invites you to a welcoming workshop for women who want to understand their finances and plan ahead with greater confidence.

Together, we will explore:

📝 Financial planning – setting goals and taking practical steps towards them.

Do you care about the safety of women and girls on public transport?

Theresa and Caroline from Soroptimist Tunbridge Wells Club met with pupils at Tunbridge Wells Girls' Grammar School to discuss students experiences of travelling on the train. The results of the community discussion have now been submitted to the South-eastern Railway Community-Led VIAWG Forum.
