The official ‘Corr’ welcoming committee - We think they love it here just as much as we do!

Horses have very much been a part of ‘life at the Corr’ for the last few hundred years; these guys certainly have it a lot easier than their predecessors 🐴.

The great thing about the Corr is that it’s more than just the house.
The farmyard and outbuilding all have a unique story to tell.
This is the door to the peat shed... which use to be the main source of fuel, all cut from the surrounding farmland.

Every inch of The Corr has a story to tell... these beautiful flagstones outside the front door were laid down when the house was first built. They will have seen both animal and human traffic over several 100 years. Made from local stone, they are set to go on for a few 100 more!

The Corr isn’t the only house on the farm ... About 500 metres away sits Upper Loup Forse ,one of 3 dwellings.
This one was lived in until the 1970’s, now only the shell remains.

Who wouldn’t fall in love with this front door? 8 years ago we did! Collecting the keys (well key) was the start of a long journey to owning - the last inhabited long house in Caithness, the same family had lived here from the early 1800’s til 2013.
An epic journey lies ahead but hopefully, step by step we’ll restore the house and all the amazing farm buildings to their former glory.
