Jamie discusses the benefits of working in partnership with us and what this means for residents of Caerphilly.

Having attended Expo Real earlier this month, Jamie reflects on meeting with counterparts from Barcelona and Eindhoven and promoting the opportunities in Caerphilly. Discussing how public and private sector investment can unlock sites, build momentum and attract businesses to the county.

For example, Oakdale Business Park recently received investment from CCR and CCBC. This investment will enable essential infrastructure works, unlock 140,000 sq ft of essential employment space and support business growth in the area.

What does growth, regeneration and investment look like for a leading housing provider in southeast Wales?

We caught up with Bron Afon to find out more about their plans for the year ahead, their ambitions for new homes and regeneration, and how the CCR Invest Partner Programme is helping them build new connections and unlock opportunities.

From expanding their development programme across Gwent to exploring the potential regeneration of Fairwater Square in Cwmbran, there’s plenty to look forward to.

Today marks the start of an exciting new chapter as the Cardiff Capital Region Investment Zone is officially launched 👏

Backed by £160 million and delivered in partnership with the UK and Welsh Governments, the programme is designed to unlock new opportunities for businesses, researchers and communities across the region.

Building on our strengths in compound semiconductors, manufacturing and digital technologies, the Investment Zone will help businesses grow, support cutting-edge research and attract new investment into the region.

Over the next decade, the programme is expected to:

📈 Attract more than £500 million in investment
💼 Create up to 4,000 jobs
🔗 Strengthen regional supply chains
💡 Accelerate innovation
📊 Drive long-term economic growth

This is a long-term commitment to strengthening our economy, supporting future industries and ensuring South East Wales remains a competitive place to live, work and do business.

Gyda chefnogaeth £160 miliwn ac mewn partneriaeth â Llywodraethau'r DU a Chymru, nod y rhaglen yw creu cyfleoedd newydd i fusnesau, ymchwilwyr a chymunedau ledled y rhanbarth.

Gan adeiladu ar ein cryfderau ym maes lled-ddargludyddion cyfansawdd, gweithgynhyrchu a thechnolegau digidol, bydd y Parth Buddsoddi yn helpu busnesau i dyfu, yn cefnogi ymchwil arloesol ac yn denu buddsoddiad newydd i'r rhanbarth.
Dros y degawd nesaf, disgwylir i'r rhaglen:

How we power our homes and businesses in the future is so important. It’s why we’re committed to creating a sustainable, greener region. We are now driving forward a project to explore how the area around Aberthaw could be used for a tidal lagoon commercial demonstration project🌊

This is the starting point that could lead to something mega(watt) for the region. The tidal lagoon could potentially power 500,000 homes. That would mean energy security not just for all of Wales, but our neighbours over the Bristol channel too.

Cardiff Capital Region is to form a strategic partnership with the National Wealth Fund – the UK’s Public Finance Institution and national wealth fund – in what is a huge opportunity to accelerate our investment and growth across South East Wales.

Working closely with the National Wealth Fund, Welsh Government and our ten local authorities, the partnership will give us direct access to investment knowledge, expertise and capital.

This announcement underlines our ambition to create a distinctive ‘Welsh way’ when it comes to maximising public investment, and builds on our successes through regeneration schemes such as the Strategic Premises Fund and Northern Valleys.

We’re looking forward to working collaboratively with UK, Welsh and local government to develop genuinely game-changing projects that will drive sustainable economic growth across our region, that will ultimately benefit our local communities and Wales more widely.
