The Welsh Field of Remembrance pays tribute to all those brave Service men and women who have served in our Armed Services since World War I.
Still one more week for everyone to come and support.

The Poppy Appeal raises funds for The Royal British Legion, the nation's leading Armed Forces charity providing care and support to all members of the British Armed Forces past and present and their families. Its emblem is the red poppy.

Special Interest Day - Cardiff Castle from the Tudors to Today

Stories of murderous earls, mercenary marriages and the making and spending of a vast fortune. Join the curator for an informative, informal and enthralling day as he takes you through 450 years at the Castle with illustrated lectures. The day includes a tour of the interior.

Also, the upcoming September 11th tour has sold out, thank you to anyone who's bought tickets! You're in for a treat! Tour to visitors will be done by Kevin Burt, Cardiff Castle Manager, through a number of hidden corners and parts of the castle will not be seen often. The description of the improvements and the restoration work completed over the last decade with the support of the Heritage Lottery Fund. Refreshments and a question and answer session.

Upcoming Event at the Castle - September 15th, our Beating Retreat, a traditional military ceremony. Before the event starts at 6pm at the Castle, will Siencyn, goat of the Royal Welch, will be led through the city center by the Goat Major Sergeant David Joseph to the accompaniment section of Drums of the Royal Welsh and the piper Gurkhaidd between 4pm-6pm. Two lightweight 105mm gun (the same as those currently used in campaigns in Afghanistan) will mark the beginning and end of the ceremony.
