Over the weekend of the 16th and 17th of May, 22 cadets - including 1 from Bristol & Gloucestershire Wing and 6 from West Mercian Wing - successfully completed their Bronze qualifier or Silver practice Duke of Edinburgh’s Award expeditions in the Brecon Beacons.

Working as teams, the cadets navigated themselves from Abergavenny to Crickhowell and back. They utilised skills in map-reading, self-sufficiency and camp cooking across the weekend, demonstrating core values of teamwork, leadership and perseverance. A fantastic achievement by all involved - well done to all cadets and staff who supported a successful and rewarding weekend.

SPORTS SEASON FINISHES STRONG

160 troops across 18 squadrons made their way to Leckwith Stadium in Cardiff for the final event in this years sports calendar.

It was an amazing day made possible by the amazing support of Staff and Cadets from around the Wing. Cadets competed in track and field events with a number of impressive times and distances being set.

Congratulations to 1148 (Penarth) Squadron, the overall competition winners. The sports league has been updated with a very close margin between 1st & 2nd place. We look forward to seeing who is triumphant following the Regional event at the end of of June.
