When space is tight but the aim is a real showstopper, the only way is up ⬆️

We’re excited to be working on refurbishing the playground at Pencnwc Holiday Park

A brand-new activity tower from Lappset will be the centrepiece — just under 7 metres tall and 11 metres wide — giving guests an impressive new place to climb, explore and play outdoors.

To keep the area looking natural, we’re also installing Tigermulch surfacing. It has the look and feel of play bark, but it’s made using 80% recycled material and is resin-bound for a durable, safer finish. It also drains extremely well, so it’s ready to use in all seasons.

Proud to share some brilliant local news: Adventure Playgrounds Wales has been appointed to deliver the refurbishment of the children’s play area at Bryngarw Country Park.

From the 12th of January 2026 the play area will be temporarily closed while we replace end-of-life equipment and install brand-new features including:

🔹A forest canopy adventure tower
🔹 5m tall climbing net
🔹 New swing set
🔹 Dedicated toddler zone

Bryngarw’s accessible play equipment (including the wheelchair swing, roundabout and trampoline) will remain, supporting inclusive play for everyone.

There’s also a great sustainability story here where new safety surfacing will include material made from 15 tonnes of rubber crumb, donated through Murfitts Industries Ltd in partnership with A Peace for Nature.

Huge thanks to Awen Cultural Trust and Bridgend County Borough Council, with funding via the All Wales Play Opportunities Grant.

We partnered with a local council and building contractor to install brand new playground equipment at a fantastic new-build school in West Wales!

This project was particularly special as the school includes an Additional Learning Needs (ALN) unit, meaning we needed to draw on our experience and work closely with staff to select the perfect equipment to support every child’s development and play.

For the main playground, we installed a trim trail and climbing frame, giving students the opportunity to develop their physical skills and confidence.

For the ALN unit, we carefully selected equipment that prioritizes accessibility, sensory engagement, and supervision, including:
🔹 A communication panel to support interaction and learning
🔹 A standalone slide for independent fun
🔹 A mini basket swing for gentle movement
🔹 A spinning bowl for sensory stimulation

To ensure safety, accessibility and durability all equipment was surfaced with wetpour. this provides a soft, impact-absorbing play surface that keeps children safe while they explore and have fun.

This created a vibrant, inclusive play area delivered on time, within budget, and perfectly tailored to the school’s needs.

A huge thank you to the school staff and the local council.

The new pirate themed adventure playground open at Folly Farm!

Designed to spark imagination and encourage active play, this new space is already bringing joy to families and young adventurers.

Folly Farm continues to be a place where unforgettable memories are made and this playground is another step in enhancing the visitor experience. From climbing and sliding to imaginative pirate adventures, there’s something for everyone to enjoy.

It’s been a pleasure to play a part in helping Folly Farm create this fantastic addition. Thank you to everyone involved.

One of our final updates on the Folly Farm playground project as we approach the second-to-last week of installation! 🎉

Key structures are in place, and things are really coming together as we begin groundworks for the surfacing this week

The team has been battling the elements and quite a bit of mud but progress is moving smoothly. We expect the wetpour surfacing to arrive next week, which will really bring the space to life and prepare it for safe play.

We can’t wait for everyone to see the final result!

🚢 Exciting Update from Folly Farm Adventure Park & Zoo 🚢

We’re thrilled to announce that work has begun on replacing Folly Farm’s iconic 30 year old pirate ship! 🏴‍☠️ Our team at Adventure Playgrounds Wales is proud to be part of this transformation, bringing a new and inclusive design to life for everyone to enjoy.

The new play area will feature modern wetpour safety surfacing and ramped access climbing frames, making it more accessible and fun for all visitors. 🌟
