An inspiring weekend at Ex SANDHURST THREAD.

Our Officer Cadets heard from female officers ranging from Second Lieutenant to Brigadier, each sharing unique journeys into the Army. Their authenticity and leadership made a lasting impact.

From personal development workshops, Atlantic Rowing teams story, to a PT brief, panel discussions, and networking, the weekend offered invaluable insights into the experiences of serving female officers across different cap badges.

Introducing your SUO for 2025/26!

Hello! My name is Emily and I’m excited to be the Senior Under Officer (SUO) at Wales UOTC for the next academic year. In this role, I act as the link between Officer Cadets and Regimental Headquarters in Cardiff.
I’m currently pursuing a degree in Marine and Freshwater Biology at Aberystwyth University. This will be my third year with the unit, and I’ve embraced every opportunity—from representing the Army in wakeboarding at the Inter-Services Championship, going to Devon for a weeks surf camp with Army Surfing to taking part in platoon attacks in the Brecon Beacons, and even playing netball at RMA Sandhurst.
The highlight of my time with WUOTC has undoubtedly been the friendships I’ve formed with like-minded people from universities across Wales. These connections have made my experience truly unforgettable.
I’m excited to meet the 2025 cohort of Officer Cadets and wish you all the best as you begin your university journeys!
