Audit Wales / Archwilio Cymru Archwilio Cymru - We’re here to Assure, Explain and Inspire. Ein nod yw Sicrhau, Egluro ac Ysbryd The Wales Audit Office is the public sector watchdog for Wales.

Our aim is to ensure that the people of Wales know whether public money is being managed wisely and that public bodies in Wales understand how to improve outcomes. We do this through:
• Auditing the financial accounts of public bodies
• Reporting on how services are being delivered
• Assessing whether value for money is being achieved
• Checking how organisations are planning and delivering impro

vements

We are also committed to identifying and spreading good practice, to help public bodies deliver better services. Our work includes all devolved public sectors in Wales - including health and social care, local and central government, fire and rescue authorities, national parks, police, probation and community councils. 📢 Published today: Delivering change, measuring impact? Continuous improvement at South Wales Fire and Rescue Authority

Our new report examines the actions taken by South Wales Fire and Rescue Authority to secure continuous improvement following Welsh Government intervention in February 2024. It considers the Authority's response to external reviews of its culture, operations and arrangements to secure value for money.

The report found that the Authority has made progress in addressing its areas for improvement. It also highlights the need for greater clarity about how future improvements will be funded and the difference they are making to local communities.
