"Between the pages of books is a lovely place to be"

The June Draw of the Library lottery was made this morning in the library with the help of Keith Hatton and two regular library supporters. Coincidentally the first number drawn out of the bag was that of Mary Broomfield who had a very welcome surprise whilst on duty at the desk!

The winners are:

£20 no.70 Mary Broomfield
£12 no. 96 Kristin Litton
£8 no.13 Mary Collier

No. 13 is certainly lucky for some, including Mary who has won before.

A special thank you to all who contributed to the Spring Fayre and made it such a great success.

The library was pleased to host the Under 5's Pre-School event as a part of the Music Festival. The free bilingual music event was specifically for little children. Designed as an engaging and interactive experience. It introduces young audiences to music in a fun way. Here's Rhiannon leading the session.

Chris Franks chair of Trustees said that the library was delighted to play a small part in the Music Festival. Look out for more events for the community that are held in the library.

A local author is appearing in a prestigious literary festival in the Autumn.

Marc Harris has a 45 minute slot in the Daresbury Park Hotel, where the festival will take place, talking about Gothic ghost stories, and his book Wild and Uncanny Tales.

The Cheshire Book Festival of Other Worlds is a 2 day festival for Fantasy and Science Fiction Writing, The event will have dedicated sessions to authors on Magical Realism, Epic Fantasy, Dystopian, Horror Romantasy and Science Fiction. Taking place on 5th and 6th September 2026 at the Daresbury Park Hotel, Red Brow Lane, Warrington, WA4 4BB.

Marc is speaking on Saturday 5th September.
