Early Years Scotland has secured £1million pounds from theScottish Government to assist families with the cost of childcare. What this may look like is funding for a 3 year old who cant access ELC until the allocated time by Dumfries and Galloway Council e.g 3 in October ELC funded in January. Or it may be dont quite meet the criteria for a funded 2 year old space. Thefunding does not have a specific criteria you have to meet, the money does not go to the family but would be paid directly to the Nursery. One thing to think about however is if you are in receipt of the childcare element of UC. You will not receive UC and this funding it will be calculated as funding provided then 85% of thr remaining cost. It is advisable if this applies to send a message on your UC journal to see how you would benefit.

The QR code on the poster is how to apply. Nursery do not make the decision on who is and who is not eligible.

🌱🎉 OUR POLYTUNNEL IS UP! 🎉🌱
What an exciting day at Scruffs Childcare! The children loved watching our new polytunnel take shape and are excited to learn, explore and grow inside it. 🥕🍓🌻
HB: “It’s good—we can grow tomatoes and cucumbers!”
APB: “Looks amazing, and it will never blow away.”
MN: “It’s ginormous!”
Our polytunnel will provide wonderful hands-on learning opportunities, from planting seeds and caring for plants to exploring nature, counting, teamwork and learning where our food comes from. 🌱
We can’t wait to see what we grow together! 💚

This is an incredible achievement and reflects the passion, commitment and dedication that goes into our nursery every single day.

🎓✨ What an incredible day celebrating our wonderful graduates! ✨🎓

Today we said goodbye to a very special group of children as they celebrated their graduation with a fantastic party full of laughter, games, dancing, and lots of happy memories. It was so lovely to see their smiling faces enjoying every moment together.

A huge thank you to all of our parents and families for joining us to celebrate this special milestone. Your continued support means so much, and we loved sharing this memorable day with you.

To all of our amazing graduates, we are so proud of everything you have achieved. We wish you all the very best as you begin your next adventure. Keep smiling, keep learning, and always believe in yourselves. We know you’ll all do amazing things!

☀️ ELCC Sports Day 2026 ☀️

What a fantastic Sports Day! We are so proud of all our little superstars, who gave every race their best despite the warm weather. They all did amazingly well and had so much fun!

A big congratulations to Richie, who took the win in our parents' race! 🏃👏
