We are absolutely delighted to share that Scruffs Childcare has achieved Grade 5 – Very Good in ALL areas following our Care Inspectorate inspection!
This is an incredible achievement and reflects the passion, commitment and dedication that goes into our nursery every single day.
A huge thank you goes to our amazing team. Your kindness, professionalism, creativity and unwavering dedication to providing the very best care and learning experiences for our children make Scruffs such a special place. We are so proud of every one of you.
To our wonderful children – thank you for filling our days with laughter, curiosity and joy. You are the heart of everything we do.
And to our fantastic families, thank you for your continued trust, encouragement and support. We are privileged to work in partnership with you and to be part of your children's early years journey.

🎓✨ What an incredible day celebrating our wonderful graduates! ✨🎓

Today we said goodbye to a very special group of children as they celebrated their graduation with a fantastic party full of laughter, games, dancing, and lots of happy memories. It was so lovely to see their smiling faces enjoying every moment together.

A huge thank you to all of our parents and families for joining us to celebrate this special milestone. Your continued support means so much, and we loved sharing this memorable day with you.

To all of our amazing graduates, we are so proud of everything you have achieved. We wish you all the very best as you begin your next adventure. Keep smiling, keep learning, and always believe in yourselves. We know you’ll all do amazing things!

☀️ ELCC Sports Day 2026 ☀️

What a fantastic Sports Day! We are so proud of all our little superstars, who gave every race their best despite the warm weather. They all did amazingly well and had so much fun!

A big congratulations to Richie, who took the win in our parents' race! 🏃👏

We'd also like to say a huge thank you to Threave Rovers Youth Development for kindly allowing us to use their pitch – we really appreciate your support.

Finally, thank you to all of our families who came along to cheer the children on and make the day so special. Your support means so much to us! 💙

📚✨ Our New Literacy Shed is Ready! ✨📚
We are so excited to introduce our brand new Literacy Shed for our babies and 2-year-olds! ❤️
This beautiful space has been carefully created to inspire a love of books, stories and language from the very earliest years. Through sharing stories, exploring books, singing songs and engaging in meaningful conversations, our youngest children are building the foundations for lifelong learning.
Our Literacy Shed will help children to: 🌟 Develop early communication and language skills. 🌟 Build their vocabulary through stories and songs. 🌟 Encourage curiosity, imagination and creativity. 🌟 Learn to love books in a calm, nurturing environment. 🌟 Strengthen listening, attention and early literacy skills.
At our nursery, we believe that reading begins long before children can recognise words. Every cuddle with a book, every nursery rhyme and every story shared helps to support children's confidence, learning and development.
We can't wait to see the wonderful adventures, conversations and imaginations that grow in our new Literacy Shed. Here's to creating little book lovers, one story at a time! 📖💛

Children are welcome to come dressed in their party clothes if they would like to make the occasion extra special. ✨

🎉 Thank You! 🎉

A huge thank you to everyone who supported our fundraising efforts this year and joined us for our Bingo Night, our final fundraising event.

We are incredibly grateful to everyone who made donations, contributed raffle prizes, and purchased tickets. Your support has helped us raise valuable funds that will go directly towards enhancing experiences and opportunities for the children at the nursery.

A special thank you to one of our nursery grandparents for all of their help with organising the event and keeping us right throughout the planning and on the night. Your support was greatly appreciated.
