The Golden Day Club, Castle Douglas we are a group for older people and meet twice a week to provide social contact, friendship and supp The Golden day club meets twice a week.

Our daily programme includes,

tea/coffee and scones on arrival followed by board games/dominos, or a chit chat

lunch is served at 12.15 which is two courses followed by teas and coffees. we can cater for any dietary requirements. after lunch the members are entertained with a mixture of live music or games. join in or just watch! the club has its own minibus and can provide wheelchair accessible

transport from the town and surrounding villages we also organise trips to local places or interest in the minibus. if you have any special needs please contact us on the above number before you come along.

We’re delighted to share that we were recently awarded £2,500 in funding from the Allen Lane Foundation. This generous support will be used to purchase food and provisions for our kitchen, which produces over 50 meals each week for elderly members within our community. As a small registered charity, this grant will make a significant difference, helping us continue to deliver the vital services that so many people rely on. They mixed bird seed and lard together which was very messy and produced some funny moments before pressing the mixture into cups. They all took one home and the birds of D&G will be very well fed.

The Golden Day Club had a very kind donation of £403.12 from Glasgow University (Dumfries Campus) after their Christmas concert night.
