🌟 A Very Special Evening for Castle Douglas Rotary Club 🌟

On Thursday evening, Castle Douglas Rotary Club had the pleasure of celebrating one of our longest serving and most respected members, Bill Hean, who was presented with the prestigious Paul Harris Fellowship Award. 🏅💙
Rotary members and special guests has a wonderful evening celebrating Bill’s remarkable contribution and dedication to our club. Bill, a founding member of Castle Douglas Rotary Club in 1963, has given an incredible amount of time, commitment and service to Rotary and the local community over the past 63 years.
Congratulations, Bill, and thank you for everything you have done for Castle Douglas Rotary and our community. 👏💙

A huge thank you to the Stewartry Show Committee for their generous donation of £250 to the Rotary Club of Castle Douglas.
The cheque was presented to club members as a token of appreciation for providing refreshments to the judges at the Stewartry Show for over 20 years. We are incredibly grateful for this thoughtful recognition.
It has been our pleasure to support the Stewartry Show over the years, and we’re proud to have played a small part in helping such a fantastic local event.

Club president, Derek, was pleased to present a cheque of £300 to Anna, a talented young woman from Crossmichael, who has been selected to represent Scotland at the Senior Women’s Lacrosse Championships in Japan. This is a fantastic achievement, and our club are proud to help Anna on her journey to compete on the international stage and wish her every success in the upcoming tournament.

We are delighted to be raffling this fantastic hamper worth approximately £200, generously donated by Posthorn 90 and filled with a wonderful selection of their goodies!
Raffle tickets (£1 each) will be on sale during and after the Civic Bowling Competition on Wednesday 15 July from 6:00pm to 10:00pm at the Bowling Club. Tickets will also be available within our stall at the Stewartry Show on 25 July.
All funds raised will go to local good causes. Thank you to Posthorn 90 for their kind donation

There’s so much happening in town over the next 2 weeks!

🏎️ 12th July – Castle Douglas Soap Box Derby kicks things off with a fantastic day of thrills, creativity and community fun.

🎭 13th–19th July – It’s Civic Week, packed with events for everyone to enjoy, culminating in Douglas Day on Saturday 18th July. Our Rotary members are delighted to once again be helping with parade management

🚜 25th July – The Stewartry Agricultural Show. Be sure to visit the Castle Douglas Rotary Club stall to meet our members, find out more about what we do, and how we’re supporting our local community.

Members of Castle Douglas Rotary Club had a brilliant time helping out at Carlingwark Loch Parkrun on Saturday morning. Some of our members even took part in the 5K run. While there we presented a cheque of £250 to the Parkrun team, money raised through our recent race night
Parkrun, runs every Saturday morning from the town’s Carlingwark Park 9:15am for a 9:30am start.

Members from Castle Douglas Rotary Club recently popped in to see Castle Douglas Scout Group on Friday evening with a donation of £250. During the visit, members heard all about the group’s exciting plans for a camp trip in June. The donation will go towards supporting the cost of camping equipment for the Cubs and Scouts. We wish them all the best for their upcoming adventure and look forward to hearing all about it! 🏕️
