Last night the Squadron took part in a geocaching exercise! To further develop their map reading skills the Cadets navigated around the local area to specific grid references to then attempt to locate the geocache. Well done all!

Well done to Cadet Ndzi who attended a one-day Junior Non-Commissioned Officer Course at Wing Headquarters.

Throughout the day, cadets received instruction on the role and responsibilities of a Junior NCO, as well as practical communication skills. They also spent time on the drill square and took part in sessions covering standards, limits of authority, giving feedback and cadet welfare.

A key part of the day was syndicate-based training, where cadets worked in small groups to complete leaderless exercises designed to develop teamwork, initiative, and problem-solving skills.

Over the half term, our cadets had a fantastic opportunity to visit RAF Coningsby for a day learning more about the Royal Air Force both past and present.

The visit included time with the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight, where cadets were able to learn about the important role it plays in preserving our aviation heritage and commemorating those who served during World War Two. Seeing these historic aircraft up close gave cadets a real appreciation of the legacy behind some of the RAF’s most iconic aircraft.

Cadets also had the chance to learn more about the modern RAF aircraft through the Typhoon, gaining an insight into one of the UK’s frontline fast jet capabilities!

The day also included a visit to the Survival Equipment Section, where cadets learnt about the vital equipment and specialist work that helps keep aircrew safe.

It was a brilliant experience for our cadets, offering a valuable look at the teamwork, professionalism and wide range of roles undertaken within the Royal Air Force.

A huge thank you to everyone at RAF Coningsby who supported the visit!
