Have you seen our new shiny signs? We’re continuing efforts to increase biodiversity in the Parish 🌼🌸🦋🐝

Identified areas on Briar hill and West lane will receive only two cuts a year and have the cuttings removed.

With thanks to our Village Caretaker, North Yorkshire Community Payback Scheme, North York Moors National Park and a local landowner for making it possible.

The Parish Council would like to take the opportunity to thank Simon Taylor for many years of service as Caretaker and Toilet cleaner.

His hard work and dedication have kept our villages looking great and functioning well. We’re very grateful and sure residents will agree.

We’re delighted to have appointed Matt Jackson to take on both roles. You might’ve already noticed him around and about. Do say hi!

A note from North Yorkshire Council:

Residents can now pay for their licence for the 2025 garden waste season.

A licence costs £49 for collections between March and early December.

The licence covers one 240-litre wheelie bin to be emptied fortnightly. Anyone who wishes to have more than one bin emptied will need to pay for a licence for each additional bin. Residents can also pay for a licence at any time throughout the season but are encouraged to do so before the start of the service in March as the cost will remain the same.

Once paid, a licence pack should arrive within 14 days. Please visit www.northyorks.gov.uk/garden-waste.

Find out more about our fortnightly garden waste collections.
