Pure magic at the Swaledale Festival! ✨
We are so proud to have been part of the Swaledale Festival , Richmond on Song. The Service Children’s Community Choir joined forces with the incredible The Dales Community Pop Choir for a truly unforgettable moment.
Together, they took on a SELF-ESTEEM song, 'Focus is Power'. This song has a message of strength, resilience, and inner confidence that genuinely resonated with our children—and you can hear that absolute conviction in every single note they sing.
Service life requires a unique kind of strength, and seeing these young people channel their energy, focus, and voices into this anthem was nothing short of inspiring.
Turn your volume up, take a listen, and feel the power! 🎶❤️

⭐️ Superstar of the Week... goes to EVERYONE! ⭐️

At our last rehearsal, we decided to do something a little different. Rather than recognising just one Superstar of the Week, we awarded the entire Choir! 🎉

Over the past few weeks, our members have shown incredible dedication, commitment and enthusiasm as they've worked hard preparing for some exciting performances ahead. From learning new music and perfecting harmonies to supporting one another and giving their all at rehearsals, every single member has played their part.

We are incredibly proud of what this amazing group of young people is achieving. Their effort, teamwork and positive attitude truly embody everything our choir is about.

Well done to every member of the choir – this award is thoroughly deserved, and we can't wait to share the results of all your hard work with our audiences soon! ❤️🎶

🎶 What a fantastic day at the Swaledale Festival! 🎶

A huge thank you to everyone who came along to support our Choir as we performed alongside the wonderful Dales Community Pop Choir. It was a real privilege to be part of such a special event and to share our music with so many friendly faces.

The children had an amazing day, full of singing, learning, and making memories. We were also incredibly fortunate to take part in a masterclass with the internationally acclaimed baritone Roderick Williams, which was an inspiring experience for everyone involved.

To top it all off, we were treated to a beautiful performance from the Swale Singers before we headed home – the perfect ending to a wonderful day of music-making.

Thank you to the Swaledale Festival organisers, our fellow performers, families, supporters, and everyone who helped make the day such a success. We’re already looking forward to the next one! 🎵✨

Today, on the anniversary of D-Day, we pause to remember the extraordinary courage, sacrifice and resilience of all those who fought and fell.

For many military children, history is not just something found in books. It lives on through family stories, treasured photographs, medals passed down through generations, and the values of service and sacrifice that continue to shape military life today.

As we reflect on the events of 6th June 1944, we are reminded of the importance of learning from history, honouring those who came before us, and continuing to support the military community that serves our country.

At the Choir, creating connections is at the heart of what we do. We provide a place where military children and their friends can come together, build confidence, form lasting friendships and create bonds that can withstand the unique challenges of military life.

By bringing young people together through music, we help ensure that the spirit of community, support and remembrance continues for future generations.

Today, we remember those who gave so much for the freedoms we enjoy today.

We will remember them. ♥️

💜 Building confidence, one voice at a time 💜

One of the things we’re most proud of at the Service Children’s Community Choir is watching our children grow in confidence — and Lola is such a wonderful example of that journey.

When Lola first joined us a few years ago, she was incredibly quiet and shy. Fast forward to today, and she’s transformed into a confident, caring and inspiring member of our choir family.

She now stands up and joins in with confidence, helps lead warm ups, mentors some of our younger members, and recently did something truly amazing — performing a solo in front of her whole school during a talent competition.

Her song choice was Self Esteem – Focus is Power… a song that has since become one of the core songs of our choir because its message means so much to so many of our children.

Watching Lola grow into the star she is today has been an absolute joy, and she reminds us exactly why this choir matters so much. ✨

This is about so much more than singing. It’s about helping children believe in themselves.

We’re so proud of you, Lola 💜
