Cemaes Bay Coastguard were called out along with our colleagues from Holyhead Coastguard Rescue Team following reports of a missing person.

The casualty was located in the bay at Cemaes and successfully recovered to the beach. They were then handed over to the awaiting ambulance service for medical care. We wish the casualty a speedy recovery.

Amazing work once again by all the teams involved across the multi-agency services. This once again demonstrates how vital effective communication, coordination, and cross platform training are in helping us work together when it matters most. A huge well done to everyone involved. 👏

With warmer weather expected across Wales during the summer months, it is vital that residents understand how to keep themselves and their loved ones safe during heatwaves.

Gyda thywydd cynhesach yn cael ei ragweld ledled Cymru yn ystod misoedd yr haf, mae’n hanfodol bod trigolion yn deall sut i gadw eu hunain a’u hanwyliaid yn ddiogel yn ystod tonnau gwres.

As the electrical storm descended on Cemaes, we received a report of a paddle boarder and dog in difficulties in the bay. On arrival the first informant informed us what they had seen this was vital information. This then enabled us to quickly locate the last known position of the casualty. It was then decided in conjunction with the MRCC in Holyhead that the only method of retrieving the casualties would be by boat.RNLI Moelfre Lifeboat were called for assistance.

Once on scene we worked together to locate and recover the casualty who had taken cover in a cove as the storm arrived, unfortunately the paddle board had deflated. After a medical assessment by the Moelfre lifeboat crew it was decided the casualty and dog were fit and well to be transferred to us on the Beach.

Great job in tough conditions carried out between the MRCC, local coastguard team and Moelfre lifeboat crew.
