Built as part of the Chard Regeneration programme and located on the Boden Mill site, Chard Leisure Centre boasts a five lane swimming pool, learner pool, café, indoor soft play adventure, a gym and studios. The centre is operated by Freedom Leisure - one of the most successful and growing not for profit leisure and cultural trusts in the UK - on behalf of South Somerset District Council.

A huge thank you to everyone who supported and delivered such a fantastic BBC Radio Somerset Wake Up Campaign event at our leisure centre! 🎙️💙

From the live broadcast to the NHS Health Checks and activation sessions, the day was a brilliant showcase for our customers, visitors, and community. It was also a fantastic opportunity for so many of our team members to step up and represent the centre live on air!💜

The focus of the Wake Up Campaign is to spread awareness around four key health themes affecting our community, with clear and important messaging about the value of getting checked. The campaign is all about straight-talking, no-nonsense advice and sharing real-life stories that encourage people to take positive steps for their health and wellbeing.

Thank you again to everyone involved in making the event such a success — we’re proud to have been part of such an important campaign. 👏
