Great news, remember this stunning Buzzard that we rescued 9 days ago? He came to us weighing 14.4oz which is the same as our Tawny Owl. Not only was he very underweight he was also suffering from heat exhaustion. Well tonight he is back home where he belongs, good luck little guy 🤞🙏

A really sad rescue last night, this buzzard fell from the sky and landed in a fishing lake. A kind fisherman got him out with a net and when we arrived and checked him over, we saw a very sad sight. This buzzard had been electrocuted most likely from a power lines and one of his feet was completely dead and had broken at the ankle joint and the other one which would have also been dead had already broken off on the ankle joint. This injury was a few days old and this poor bird would of suffered terribly with trying to land or even stand.

He is no longer suffering 😥😢

This Buzzard was rescued in Totnes the other evening, a 3 hour round trip but the member of public were unable to find anyone closer. We got back just before midnight, weighed the bird 3/4 of a lb 😳 treated him and settled him down. Sadly he didn't make the night 😕

Todays rescue is this beautiful Buzzard that was found grounded out near Blandford. He weighs 3/4 of a pound, so incredibly underweight. He was found grounded and very wet. Very unusual colour, what a stunning bird.

A total of 4 rescues yesterday and we got home just before midnight last night. We were called out to 2 Buzzards, the first one near Sherborne was in terrible condition once we had caught him we found a old displaced open fracture to his wing. He had been like this for quite a while. Sadly we had no other option other than to end his suffering 😔

The second one was found on its back on the side of the road barely moving. The member of public very kindly got him in a box and we collected him late last night. Then an hours journey to Coombefield Vets where we met 2 lovely ladies that gave these birds there complete attention. Haley and Lucy very quickly dealt with the one that needed to be PTS and they then helped us with the other one.

The second one is incredibly poorly and very underweight but after treatment last night and a quiet night, he is still with us this morning 🙏🤞
