But even on a hot day, the water can be dangerously cold, causing cold water shock in seconds.

Fifteen young people across the country have already lost their lives this summer.

A simple conversation after school or college today could help your child make safer choices and avoid a tragedy in your family.

Thanks to everybody who came to speak to us today at St. Mary's Church, summer fete. We made it a little later than planned after being called out as we were getting the truck ready to come down, typical timing! We had a great time seeing everybody. 🚒🚒

Our drill night (weekly training time) was put to good use tonight for a practical RTC drill. This was to help our firefighters in development in getting signed off on key parts of their development programme. We flipped the micra on its side and treated it as a realistic incident, training like this keeps us on our toes ready for when we are needed for real. We are always on the look out for new recruits so if this sounds your sort of thing, pop down to see us on a Wednesday night between 1830-2100 and we would be happy to have a chat about our role! 🚒🚒🔥🔥

We will be doing some off station training tonight at the Evenlode Close flats in Charlbury - if you see us running around in breathing apparatus in this area do not be alarmed, this is pre planned and helps us stay ready for real incidents. Many thanks to Cottsway Housing Association for allowing us to do this. 🔥🚒🔥
