SPORTS DAY CANCELLED

Unfortunately, we have had to cancel Sports Day today. The grass on the field is simply too wet, it is still misty and foggy and further rain is forecast on the BBC Weather app.

We are very sorry for any inconvenience this may cause.

Children can come to school today either in their PE kits or in their school uniform – whichever is easiest for your family.

We will go ahead with our backup date of Thursday 25th June.

Thank you for your understanding.

🌟 Exciting News! 🌟

We are thrilled to share our brand-new EYFS and KS1 climbing frame with you all!

Not only will it provide endless opportunities for fun, adventure and imaginative play but it will also help to develop our children's gross motor skills.

A huge thank you to everyone who donated towards our sponsored walk. Your generosity has helped make this fantastic addition possible. We would also like to extend our sincere thanks to FOCS for their generous donation and ongoing support.

This project is a wonderful example of what can be achieved when a community comes together. Thank you to our amazing families and supporters for helping us reach this goal. ❀️

A special shout-out to Outdoor Play People for designing and installing our new play equipment.

Here's to many happy hours of climbing and exploring!

It was wonderful to welcome our new Reception families to our Welcome Event last night. It was great to meet so many new faces and also catch up with families who are already part of our school community.

We hope you found the session informative and useful, and that you enjoy exploring the resources that were shared in your child's new book bag. A special thank you to FOCS (Friends of Charlestown School) for their generous donation of a brand-new book for every child. We hope this helps to kickstart your child's reading journey and encourages a lifelong love of books.

We are really looking forward to seeing you at our upcoming Stay and Play sessions, where children and families will have further opportunities to become familiar with the Reception environment and team.

This marks the beginning of an exciting new chapter, and we are looking forward to working closely with you throughout your child's Reception journey and beyond.πŸ’«

πŸ“šβœοΈ This afternoon, we were delighted to welcome our second author of the day, Nazima Pathan, who spent time with our children in Years 3–5.

Nazima shared her inspiring journey to becoming an author and encouraged the children to explore their own creativity. Together, they worked collaboratively to build a story, sparking imaginations and enthusiasm for reading and writing. πŸ“–πŸ’‘

πŸ‘ A huge thank you to the St Austell Festival of Literature for organising such a fantastic day, and to FOCS for supporting us with the funding that helped make this memorable experience possible for our children. ❀️

Clare has brought along an advance copy of her brand-new book to share with the children. Its so new that it's not even available in shops yet! What a fantastic opportunity for our young readers to be among the very first to hear this exciting new story.

It has also been wonderful to welcome children from local schools to join us for this special event.

A huge thank you to Clare for inspiring a love of reading and storytelling in all of our pupils today. β€οΈπŸ“–

As part of Diabetes Awareness Week, one of our pupils delivered several fantastic class assemblies to help raise awareness and understanding of diabetes across the school.

Speaking confidently in front of their peers, they shared important information about living with diabetes, the challenges it can bring, and why awareness and support matter. We are incredibly proud of the courage and maturity they demonstrated while leading the assembly.

Well done on being such a positive role model and helping to educate others on this important topic.
