Janice, Jodie and Michelle were delighted to be invited by .uk to the House of Lords for the Fostering New Futures reception!✨

It was a privilege to hear the latest research, share experiences and join important discussions about the future of fostering, alongside representatives from Parliament, local authorities and across the fostering sector.

The event marked the launch of the Coram Institute’s new report, Unlocking Fostering Potential, and coincided with the Government’s national fostering recruitment campaign. While the ambition to recruit 10,000 additional foster care places is vital, we know that recruitment is only part of the picture. Retaining foster parents is equally important, and ensuring they feel supported, valued and equipped to continue making a difference is essential.

It was encouraging to be part of such positive conversations, with a shared commitment to improving outcomes for children and young people who need a foster family.

Ultimately, we must continue working together to ensure every child who needs a foster family has the opportunity to feel safe, supported and thrive. 🩵🩷💚

This week were proud to be celebrating Children of Foster Carers’ Week! 💕

Children of foster parents play such an important part in fostering. They share their homes, their families, their time and so many special moments with children who come into their lives.

This week is all about recognising them and celebrating the kindness, understanding and support they show along the way.
