Half way through 2026 already?! 😱✨

What a year it’s been so far at Choice & Harmony!

From 80’s Day, fish & chip lunches, bingo fun, cinema trips, Wildwood adventures, Fiona’s Farm cuddles 🐑 and noodle bar days 🍜 — we’ve already made so many amazing memories together!

And we’re not stopping there… 👀
We’ve still got Book Day 📚, Butlins 🏖️, Crazy Golf ⛳, Halloween 🎃, Christmas 🎄 and so much more to look forward to!

Time really does fly when you’re having fun — especially at Choice & Harmony!! 💫

Tomorrow starts the beginning of a brand new activity for our service users here at C&H. Our sign language class will cover the very basics of communication, offering all our service users the opportunity to learn essential signs for everyday interactions.👌🏽👋🏼✋🏻

Our aim for this activity is to expand and evolve our communication skills within our growing environment here at C&H, where everyone can connect and communicate at a basic level. By allowing consideration and thoughtfulness to flourish in an ever-evolving world where the smallest things, like verbal communication, can be taken for granted.🌍🌎🌏

Not only will our staff be there every step of the way to help, encourage, and support their service users, but they will also be learning themselves!
We can't wait to show you all just how far our service users will go! So please keep an eye out on our socials for any exciting updates.

☀️ HEATWAVE WARNING FOR TOMORROW ☀️

The Met Office are forecasting temperatures of over 30°C tomorrow, so please make sure all service users arrive appropriately dressed for the hot weather.

Please remember to bring:

🕶️ Sunglasses
🧢 Hats
🧴 Sun cream
💧 Plenty of water if possible

We will, of course, do everything we can to keep the centre as cool and comfortable as possible to help prevent overheating.

Staff will also be keeping an extra close eye on everyone throughout the day, particularly those with epilepsy, as we understand that heat can sometimes trigger seizures.

When we asked Julie why Choice & Harmony, and what has kept her here, this is what she had to say...

" I love working for C&H because every day is different. All the service users bring their own little sparkle each day to the centre making it a unique experence. No day is like the previous day. The service users make it feel more then just a job and that's one of the reasons I stayed here.

My colleagues and mangers are also so supportive, I feel like I have an extended family being part of this amazing work force."

Our DIY group is fully underway here at C&H , and the creativity is flowing like never before! Each Service user brings their own unique skills and ideas to the table, making every project a delightful collaboration.

The garden workshop is buzzing with the sound of tools and laughter, as Luke keeps a watchful eye on his new DIY apprentices. We can't wait to see what innovative and inspiring projects will emerge! Keep you eyes peeled on our socials of the grand reveal of C&H’s DIY first project. 🔧🔨

Staffing update!!

With so many new and exciting enquiries coming through our door once again, we have once again had the amazing opportunity to extend our C&H family once again!

We would like to introduce to you all to Isaiah! After having the week to settle we are pleased to say Isaiah is here to stay!! With years of experience within challenging, mental health and general LD, Isaiah has an incredible amount of experience and knowledge he can share with the team.

We are so excited for everyone to meet him. So if you see him around the centre feel free to say hi.

When we asked Christopher why Choice & Harmony, and what has kept him here, this is what he had to say...

“What makes C&H a great place to work is the service users. Sure, there are days that seem challenging, but most of the time it’s great and a pleasure to be here. Some of the service users will make you laugh, and some will amaze you with how knowledgeable they really are.

But the one thing I would say that has kept me here is being able to see a service user achieve a task they have found challenging and seeing them accomplish something I always believed they could. Being part of that journey is what has kept me here!”

It’s that time of year again where we host the Choice & Harmony’s annual reviews. As always we work alongside the CQC guidelines as closely as possible, meaning when it comes to our reviews these are no exception.

This year our care plans will be done a little differently with the involvement of the service users themselves allowing them to share their voice (where possible) and feel heard by those who care from them on a regular basis. 🗣️

Paula has been in contact with all parents and carers this week to arrange an appointments to get each and every single one of you in. If you haven't received an appointment time yet please get in touch and we can get this arranged for you. 📞

When we asked Lauren why Choice & Harmony, and what has kept her here, this is what she had to say...

" I chose to work for C&H to help individuals developed skills, gain independence and achieve personal skills/goals. An added bonus was that I was able to build relationships with both the service users and with the other staff members.

I have a good life to work balance now. Since working at C&H it has allowed me to be the best I can be, not only at work but at home too. This job allows me to be me and to be present in my personal life with my family, which in the care industry seems to becoming a rare thing.

The team here at C&H is is very welcoming, my fist day here felt like I had always been apart of this team. It was simply amazing. "
