LIB DEM SILENCE: Darlington Nursing Union has made every effort to engage all political parties on the issue of single-s*x spaces in the NHS and to ensure they hear directly from female staff affected by the impact of gender identity policies in the workplace.

They have met with representatives from the Labour Government, the Conservatives, and Reform.

They have also repeatedly reached out to the Lib Dems, particularly following their troubling treatment of gender-critical women at their recent conference.

So far, they have received only silence.

Given that silence, they hoped the party's spokesperson for women and equalities, Marie Goldman MP, would want to hear the experiences of frontline NHS nurses involved in a landmark legal case.

Again, silence.

Women who believe that biological s*x matters, that truth matters, and that every person deserves dignity and respect are hearing that message loud and clear.

The comments documented in this investigation are abhorrent and have no place in 2026, let alone politics.

Head of Local Government for Reform UK issued a statement in which he says “Sometimes people can make legitimate points but phrase them wrong, and on some issues people are genuinely angry about the state of the country and they say things that are crass.”

We think this is more than wrong phrasing and crass. It is wrong, it is racist and there are no excuses.

One councillor was filmed describing Asian people as "parasites" while another said King Charles "should be beheaded" because he "is a Muslim"

Thinking of Sir David Amess’ family on what will be an incredibly difficult day.

Five years ago today, Sir David Amess was murdered while doing what he had done for almost 40 years: serving the people who elected him.

He never stopped showing up for them. On the day his life was taken, he was there once again, listening and helping, just as he always had.

Today we remember a much-loved colleague and friend. Above all, our thoughts are with his wife and children, who carry his loss every day.
